we enjoyed drinks and had every intention of ordering dinner, but had a very negative experience with someone (maybe a manager?) on the restaurant staff. We had politely asked our waitress to reheat our appetizer that was brought out cold, and some random women appeared out of the blue to let us know that our food was not cold and condescendingly asked more than once if she should make it extra hot just for us. made us sad :/

Really surprised this is considered “premium” cocktails by any stretch of the imagination. Very basic, & very overpriced. No complexity! I was super disappointed. $14 & $21 for drinks that tasted like kool aid. Hate to be harsh but I’m happy to pay when it’s worth it, not so much when it’s not! We tried the tavern near modern pizza & worlds better & better prices! Server was great though & enjoyed the ambience.

We dined at 116 for my child's birthday and the food and drinks were excellent, the staff was very attentive, and we had a good time. It's a place where old memories and new mix. The hangar steak was very good.

The mocktail menu here is the best! Highly recommended. The food is also delicious. Make sure to book a reservation, they are usually busy during dinner time.

Spent $45 on a burger and fries take out. Asked for the burger medium it was very rare.

Took a couple friends for their birthdays. Drinks were on point. Tried several amazing salads, fries, oysters and chicken lollipops. Everyone loved their dinners as well, salmon, risotto and short ribs were fantastic. Chef Olivier always delivers.

116 Crown, nestled in downtown New Haven, exudes a vibe that is both modern and inviting, with an ambiance that's more suited to a chic lounge than a traditional bar. However, the experience is marred by service that lacks warmth and a menu that, while adequate, doesn't quite live up to the hype surrounding the establishment. During my visit, I had a couple of their signature cocktails. While they were well-presented, the flavors didn't quite hit the mark. The drinks, though unique in names and presentation, lacked the depth and inventiveness that one might expect from a bar of its repute. This was slightly disappointing, considering the potential shown in the ambiance and setting. The food menu, albeit creative in concept, also fell short of expectations. I tried their small plates, which included an interesting selection of items. However, none of them stood out as particularly memorable. They were well-prepared but didn't leave a lasting impression, especially when compared to other culinary experiences in the area. The service, unfortunately, added to the sense of underwhelment. The staff, while not overtly rude, didn't exude the warmth or welcoming vibe one would expect from a place like 116 Crown. This aspect of the experience further detracted from the overall enjoyment of the evening. In conclusion, while 116 Crown has the makings of a great spot with its stylish decor and potential for great cocktails and dishes, it falls short in execution and service. It's a place I might consider revisiting if I heard of improvements, but for now, it remains an establishment that doesn't fully live up to its promise.

The food was on the expensive side. For 7 of us, 6 people had 1 alcoholic beverage each, the other a soda and 7 meals the bill was $421. I didn't enjoy my meal, my Margherita pizza was bland and a little burnt. I would not go back. And the parking was what's expected in New Haven.

It was 7 of us. The menu selection was not great. My sisters enjoyed the salmon they ordered, my niece the steak. My Margherita pizza was okay, I LOVE Margherita pizza and this one missed the mark as it was a little bland and burnt. $420.00 later, I would not go back.

I can't speak to the normal food menu, but I came for all-night happy hour on Thursday, and it was awesome. The truffle fries are a perfect replica of McDonald's fries, with a healthy dose of Parmesan and truffle oil. The cocktail list is extensive, but I would trust Elliot with whatever he says you'll enjoy. The prices are pretty high for the area, but you'll get your money's worth with the drinks. I had the pisco sour and the dragon punch, and both were delicious.

Was there last night for dinner - had no idea I was in for one of the best meals of my life .Living in NYC - great food is abundant - but ct you have to look harder for good food . This restaurant is phenomenal / everything was fresh home made and delicious - my favorites used to be River Tavern, Copper Beach, Cafe Flo - this place is phenomenal - the eggplant which they grow off the patio was better than mine which used to be the best-can’t wait to go back -=Bravo to the chef for his amazing work - finally a restaurant in New Haven to make food a true art form - well done !!! I am thrilled to have found this place - thank you Crown 116 for taking food to this Level !!
