“Had the omakase for my husband’s birthday. Is it too much to call a sushi dinner transcendent? Chef Sunny blew us away with not just the flavors and textures of each piece, but the care and consideration that went into the entire experience. The value is incredible for what you receive, and we enjoyed every aspect of the meal. Ambiance is no-frills but intimate (and the place is immaculate). The staff are knowledgeable and kind. We will most certainly be coming back here again.”

“I have been to Gioia several times and each time my experience gets better! The drinks are tasty. The food is delicious and the staff are super nice and knowledgeable about the menu and always ensure you have a nice experience. Chef Mark does and absolutely amazing job. The food and plating are perfect. My favorite dish is the Cacio Pepe! So tasty. Highly recommend sitting at the chefs table for a great and fun experience. 10/10 recommend. And the outdoor patio space upstairs is super nice and fun environment for cocktails and Happy Hour.”

“Great menu fresh and unique ingredients. Great cocktails and wines that pair nicely with menu. Everything was cooked and presented perfectly. I had the Niman Ranch Pork Copa. And some eggplant caponata crostini as appetizer. We stopped at the rooftop bar for a cocktail and snack. We had Tuna tartare with wasabi peas. Service ambience. Made it a perfect Evening and the Hotel is awesome too.”

“This Peruvian food restaurant is a small location but Big in taste. They offer a large variety of dishes from different areas of Peru. Many dishes are from coastal areas. Most menu items are between $10 To $20. We had a whole Pollo a la Brasa (which is a rotisserie chicken) and some very nice empanadas. The chicken was excellent and very juicy. Not dry or rubbery at all. It came accompanied with fried plantains and fried Yucas. As a note, if you enjoy fried Yucas you would love theirs. It is one of a few places that really knows how to prepare them properly. {Boiled in salted water first and then fried). Service was excellent and they spoke both English and Spanish).”

“They didn't have the Philly so I got the Texas Double Whopper. It's 10 and change, but it's Big! Lot's of Jalapeños and pickles on mine which I like. The fries were freshly made and just the right amount of salt. The drivethru wasn't long and the attendee was friendly. This could have been a 5 as I really wanted to try the Philly Melt for the first time. My buddy sandwich was also good according to him. I will try again but not in Bloomfield CT ... lol.”

“While travelling through the area, I made the decision to stop at this KFC and try their Crispy Colonel sandwich. I ordered it with Buffalo sauce. It was sloppy, but sizable and tasty.This wasn't a bad choice, but I still like the pot pie better and the Famous Bowl is without a doubt, my favorite KFC menu item.I went through the drive thru and was happy to hit this place with great timing, as there was no line.”

“Midpoint is one of those cute coffee shops one can find all over. This branch in the heart of the historic district is a nice touch. The couple of times I have been here, I found the coffee to be quite satisfactory. My one regret was in both occasions, I was in a hurry, and had to make my visit a quick in and out. I definitely loved the pastries I had. They hit the spot.

“Went for lunch. It was really good, quiet, the people were nice, and good value. I got lunch special #1, my boyfriend got #2. We shared Thai dumplings, and got drinks: iced tea and Thai iced tea, with tax & 20%tip: $53.

The lunch box was good, Pad Thai was perfect. Chicken satay was tasty & hot, great peanut sauce-sweet, salty, spicy, creamy. I had never had Cashew shrimp before, it had a little kick (but I'm white and I like spice, but can't handle it. So if you like spice, ask them to bump it up a bit). They served it in a large lunch box with a big chunk of apple. It really was asking for rice. I will forego the appetizer and get a side of rice next time. I left full, it was well proportioned. My boyfriend took some pad thai home. His ginger chicken looked good, his veggie rolls were hot and crunchy, he also liked the pad thai, and when he asked for no onions and no scallions it was not a problem. His stuff arrived as requested, which is often an issue in most restaurants. The staff was super nice, they gave use fried wontons with sweet chili dipping sauce to start, and we're on top of water refills. It was hot and I was thirsty, so I probably had 5 glasses of water plus my tea. We will be back.

Dietary restrictions: Boyfriend can't have onion, shallots or scallion. It was not a problem. They were really nice about it, asked about garlic, and food arrived without onions and with garlic. No issues.

Parking: Park on the street, or park in their small lot next door. If you're looking at the front of the restaurant, it's like 1 door down on the right. There's a small red sign on the fence that says Rice Pot customers.”

“Venezuelan cuisine flavors are very unique. And to replicate the flavors is not an easy task. However the food here is nothing less than extraordinary. It feels like Venezuela. We had arepas with shredded beef. The flavors were perfectly balanced and meet was cooked to perfection. We also had the tequenos. Delicious salty cheese wrapped in Pastry and deep fried and served with salsa rosada. We also had a cachapa. The combination of the queso de Mano with the sweet flavors of the corn reminded me of my days in Venezuela. We tried papelon con limón and chicha. Both typical beverages from Venezuela. Excellent. Will return.”

“Usually their salads are delicious. But today i came by, right when they opened up (prob a mistake) and ordered a crispy chicken salad … My salad was done in about 5 mins …. ( how can chicken be cooked that fast?) Anyway, i tried to eat the salad for dinner. My croutons were stale, the bread was stale and tomatoes along with the cucumbers tasted like theve been sitting out from the night before. I doubt chicken was freshly made. I’m so disappointed. Next time i know not to come right when they open up.”

“I absolutely adore Blue Orchid. Their food is INCREDIBLE, the pad Thai and crab rangoons are the best I have ever had, and truthfully I have not tasted anything from the menu that isn't delicious. Great happy hour options, and they often have fun and creative drink specials that are worth checking out! This place is more than just a restaurant--its a community space, an art space, and it has become a home away from home for me. Q and Mike have done an incredible job in making Blue Orchid a safe and welcoming space not only for the queer community, but for anyone who steps foot inside their restaurant. The entire staff is so friendly and hospitable and you can tell that they really care about their customers and business. I cannot say enough good things about this place.
