“Cute little joint for a quick brew. There is technically seating but it's tiny- think garden shed- so I'd recommend you grab and go. Nice waitstaff, especially the older gentleman. Would try the middle eastern pastries, as they seem to be locally made fresh, while the baked goods are more standard.“
“My wife and I took a private pottery throwing lesson with Emily. She inspired us to take a six week lesson followed by another six week lesson. We then became members. We love it there. What a wonderful pottery community! Thank you Jess!Side note: the paint-your-own is super popular there, as well as glass fusing, candles, and mosaics. It’s a great place to get together and drink some wine and be creative or bring the kids for a party!“
“Just popped over to the cafe to grab a bite after reading reviews and was NOT disappointed! Tom was at the register and simply a pleasure to talk to. He recommended one of their egg sandwiches which was delicious (this means a lot coming from someone who isn’t a huge egg fan!); toasted with garlic salt, real white cheddar, a fried egg, and bacon- yum! Also grabbed a dirty chai and some fruit/walnut biscotti. Truth be told I’m having a hard time picking a favorite; the atmosphere and friendliness combined with the dynamite food will definitely make Cedarhurst my go to spot for traveling here in the future!“
“We drove 80 miles to see a concert, and were so happy to sneak into Crepes Choupette moments before closing time. The gentleman working solo welcomed us in and basically gave us personal chef service. As he masterfully crafted our meals, he sang along (perhaps subliminally) to the beautiful French music that seemed to inspire his culinary creations! He was charming, and emulated a love for his job that flowed out as love for his customers. We doubled his tip without batting an eye, and were actually surprised to find out he wasn’t the owner! We loved the Choupette, the Norvegienne, the Piaf, and whatever the other one we had was… all amazing!“
“This was my very first time in this one particular and I was very much impressed with its cleanliness, elegance, and a majority of the presentation of their baked goods. 4 out of 5!!!! I’m terribly sorry that you lost a star but that matcha brownie tasted absolutely disgusting. Never again will I buy it!!! Sorry sweetheart but it’s lacking sugar. However I do love the sweet cream filled bread you sold me. Thank you very much for helping me figure out what I want for breakfast tomorrow. Lastly, the cream green tea cake was absolutely divine. All this from being served by an incredibly gorgeous and really cashier/manager who I had to tip handsomely. I’ll definitely stop by on payday to give their specialty caffeinated drinks a try.“
“Local neighborhood fav for me. Always have room. Good menu selections and a chill vibe. Menu supports local based ingredients and is organic based. I had the machego and Fig panini and strawberry and banana smoothie. Don't forget the pastries/desserts on your way out.Vegetarian options: Hummus, Machego & Fig PaniniDietary restrictions: Veggie stuffed guten free corn patty arepas. They use apple juice instead of milk in their smoothies.Parking: There is a small lot and street parking on West Rock near the park. Can also park in Westville Center paid lot and walk down. On a bus route.“
“Quality of coffee: 4 - good espresso drinks. I've tried them a couple dozen times and they have become more consistent this past year or so. There are flavoring options like hazelnut etc. Coffee (black) is slightly above average. Atmosphere: 4.5 - great seating areas and nooks in a historic hotel. Usually, students are studying at the various tables. Location: 5 - heart of downtown within walking distance to hundreds of restaurants and great bus/train service. Service: 5 - helpful staffValue: 4 - decent pricing Average: 4.5I can't recommend food options, as I've only had coffee here.“
“Pistachio is a hidden gem! Everything from the eclectic decor, the heartwarming lattes, and the attentive service it quite simply is the best! Thank you to our server Bella who made our experience top notch! Look forward to future visits and more desserts!“
“I can't believe I had to come all the way to New Haven to get good Puerto Rican food.I got a recommendation to try this place out. I'm glad I did. It has a complete PR feel. The owner greeted me as I came through the door. Everything looked amazing. I just hope it tastes as it looks. There are so many choices. Everything is fresh and made to order, pretty much. I ordered the rice and beans and Carne Frita. This place just happened, he told me. He had been coming here since he was a young man. They left the island and ended up here for good. He decided to open up a restaurant with his wife. This place is authentic. The meals are mix and match. Anyway you want them. People came in asking for different combinations, and there was never an issue. You want beans on the rice and gandules? OK. Whatever you want, they will try and serve. The prices are awesome for the amount of food they give you.For dessert, I got a quesito. It brought me right back to the islands. The whole meal was excellent. The service is outstanding. The whole place gives you a feel of the islands. Everybody who came in while I was there seemed excited to order and eat. I loved it so much that I came back the next morning for coffee and a pastry.I recommend.“
“Nice coffee + food, fun atmosphere and nice staff. I really, really enjoy their pour-overs. Recently, I was feeling a little festive and found their pumpkin spice latte surprisingly delicious as well - very cohesive and flavorful, and not overly sweet.“
“This is one of the best DDs ! The service is always good, the crew is very friendly and polite and they work well together, including when there's people out the door. They keep it moving, I will go out of my way just to buy my everything bagel from these folks..“
“Love this place. ❤️ Everyone there is like family and always so kind and nice. The Barista there MacKenzie makes the best drinks. My favorite drink is Chai tea latte with a cheese pastry. Love telling my coworkers about Kaiyden's coffee.“
“Truly the best coffee in New Haven. Great pour over selections and the most talented baristas I have seen on the espresso side. Great spot to spend an afternoon with friends or alone, good place to work. They now serve wine at night Thursday to Saturday“
“What a beautiful quaint spot. Very elegant and lovely. You enter to either be seated or order at the register. I ate in and service was great. I had the Caprese panini and added chicken. It came with the fries. The food was great. The vegetables were a surprise. It was pickled and really good. I had Harvest Green Smoothie made with almond milk. LOVED IT! This place I highly recommend.“
“Matcha tea latte, jasmine green tea, and Nutella latte were perfect! Yummy pastries here as well. A larger space for a city but very crowded with people on laptops doing work and large furniture pieces. I felt my stroller was in everyone's way but also couldn't leave it outside since the sidewalk was smaller than normal due to snow. There is also a step up to enter the cafe. The baby changing table is downstairs in a dark hallway (not inside a restroom). The one working restroom was dim as well but smelt like cleaning products and looked clean which was nice.Kid-friendliness: A little small for strollers but you can always squeeze one in and park it near you. Changing table downstairs is in the dark hallway. Nice chairs and couches for a toddler to sit on but more stress that they'll spill something on it.“
“This space is so beautiful, warm, and inviting. I spoke with the owner during my first visit and it was lovely to hear her vision for community building. Perfect space for remote workers to grab coffee, a snack, and post up. I can't wait to go back and work.“
“During lunch break from having to serve jury duty I found this coffee shop down the street and decided to pop in. The two behind the counter were very friendly and inviting, and the special grilled cheese with tomato or bacon with soup was PERFECT . the chicken corn chowder came out piping hot and didn't even need any salt or pepper. I'm usually skeptical when someone has to make my coffee instead of me doing it, but unlike dunkin donuts the gentleman made it just right! they seem to have a familiar and friendly customer fan base, and I would definitely go back again.“
“I needed some coffee and desert after visiting the Yale University Art gallery, this was a perfect location and only short walk away. Not a large space, but a fun atmosphere nonetheless. Many students hanging out who seem to be studying indefinitely which made finding an available seat somewhat difficult for new, paying customers. A rather chaotic ordering process, it's unclear where to order/pickup, etc. So, I just jumped in and ordered a couple glazed old fashioned donuts and a cup of coffee. The service was nice and prompt however and I have no complaints there at all. I was in luck to be able to grab a stool by the door along the wall. I'm a life long serial donut dunker.....the coffee was hot and tasty and was perfect for dunking in. If you're in the area and want something sweet check out Donut Crazy. They definitely make a good donut!“
“disregard everyone talking about customer service. it’s literally only just a mom and her two kids who run this place. so yeah i’m sure it can get stressful for them at times but in the end the food is always good and they are always polite.“
“A great addition to the East Rock cafe scene! I love ordering the cafe au lait and a good sandwich while sitting either indoors or out on their patio and people watching in between working on my laptop. A great place to meet friends or clients with plenty of free street parking around. Service is super quick and friendly as well! A go-to for me!“
“I am not sure I've ever had any food here, but you know what I have had?Coffee that makes me feel like I'm going to pierce the veil between universes. There's coffee and then there's Willoughby's coffee, which will make you shake and talk to the Face of God.Ambiance is fine, it's a small spot so its almost impossible to find a seat because this is basically on Yale's campus, which means you're competing with people who are about to have a nervous breakdown and haven't slept in two weeks, so probably not worth losing an arm.But the coffee. Hooo boy the coffee. If you want to wake up, and never, ever sleep again, this is it.“
“my first time here today and will definitely be returning! i came around 6, the girl at the counter was greeting every customer that walked in! she couldn’t be older than my daughter but her work ethic was insane. all the drinks were made quickly and tasted good. the vibe of the place is awesome and the drinks were amazing. i will definitely be returning.“
“I cherish this little place as a second home and stand behind the quality as well as the fantastic service of the good souls who work there. The drinks are fantastic and the food is always fresh. I get a egg n cheese with tomato and sriracha on a poppyseed bagel, and its bomb. Fast and friendly, consistently so.“
“Cute little place, it has acai bowls, smoothies but also toast and different snacks. They told me everything was gluten free. I wanted to know if their oats were certified gf, so they called someone and told me they were. Staff wasn’t really well trained on gluten or their ingredients, but they were willing to inform elsewhere and maybe they just started when I got there. I felt assured enough to order (have celiac/gluten allergy)I got a almond butter acai bowl that was delicious. Downside was that the acai bowl wasn’t properly mixed, got some big frozen chunks of strawberry still in there. But overall good experience.“
“I stumbled across this cafe on my commute. What a great place! The workers are so nice and sweet. A great place to do some work for all my students out there. I got the snickerdoodle latte, 10 out of 10. Reasonable pricing I would say too. Definitely coming here again?“
“Koffee? Is exactly what you would want in a local coffee shop. they have great fare, and offer local artists and musicians a place to showcase their talent. you may also sometimes find a nationally known act here, you never know, Absolutely patronize this joint. You won't regret it.“
“The staff is incredibly friendly, upbeat, and helpful. Above all, the bagels and shmears are nonpareil!!! The best anywhere. I’m sad that I don’t live in New Haven anymore.Vegetarian options: I think the majority of spreads are vegetarian“
