This location also has a core staff that has been there for a long time - yes they continually add to their staff but is nice being greated by the same friendly faces daily. “Stopped by today for the first time and was truly impressed! They used coffee infused ice cubes in my ice coffee which is super rare and I very much appreciated. The donuts were also incredible- super fresh tasting. The lemon donut was one of the best donuts I've ever tried- not overpowering and not artificial tasting. The service was also great. “I stumbled upon pedals at a farmer's market. I really enjoyed the juice, but had completely forgotten about them having store fronts until I dug out the bottle to figure out how to get more juice! I found the location in Durham to visit. I love the sweet green juice, and tried to the apple juice the other day. They're a bit pricey, but delicious. The smoothies were also great! Service is friendly, location is light and bright. Great place to sit and d enjoy and smoothie, bowl, or juice.“
“Love love love this place. I have spent so many hours hanging out here. In the morning it’s so fun to come sit on the couch and read a book — the coffee is delicious! And the coffee menu is really cool and fun. Any latte here is a win. And Hanna is the most incredible and friendliest barista!! It’s also a really fun vibe in the afternoon to come for a beer and hangs. They have vegetarian options for food usually and a great food truck outside. “Met some friends here for the first time this past Sunday and we had a great experience. The place was jamming! We almost couldn’t find a seat. During the warmer months they have seating outside too but It’s a bit early in the season, so we were told. The atmosphere was lively and busy.The staff were attentive and the drinks were delicious. We ordered the flight of course and then had a few more. My personal favorite was the Cookie Monster! Liquid crack for lack of a better term is the best way to describe it. If you don’t like sweet than you definitely want to stick to a traditional espresso martini. The presentation was great and our entire group was happy. We will be returning. We always find great picks for family movie night here, and it’s also a great space for discovering films both new and old. I had the eggs Benedict, and everything was amazing - The eggs were cooked beautifully, the hollandaise was super tasty, the potatoes were crispy and well seasoned. It was good, really rich, but not super strong on the matcha flavor.Parking: Funcle's is part of a plaza and parking seems to be a bit of a grab bag. We found parking quickly, but noticed some confusion in the parking lot as more folks arrived to the lot.“
“A very nice place for a cup of coffee and a chat. Pastries and sandwiches are pretty good, the atmosphere is lively and pleasant. A downside is that there are very few tables so in cold weather you're likely to get stuck standing. (In summer you can sit on the beautiful green across the street.)“

“First timers. My wife and I like to visit different local coffee shops on Sundays. Very cute, clean place. I had an iced mocha latte and wife had hot mocha latte. Coffee flavor was very good. For a fairly new start up, I was very impressed, my only constructive criticism would be to offer more extras in the form of syrups to add to coffees. And I think adding frappes to the menu would definitely bring in a lot more customers during warm weather. I have a personal favorite of frappe that I helped another coffee shop(Cheshire) create and everyone that has gone there, or that I have made at home, call it their “crack” of all coffees(frappes). I will certainly be returning to Ground Up Coffee and with hopes of seeing one of the owners and I can share my favorite and additional extras which I feel would bring in a whole other group of customers. A very good and friendly place.“

I ordered the rice and beans and Carne Frita.This place just happened, he told me. He had been coming here since he was a young man. They left the island and ended up here for good. He decided to open up a restaurant with his wife. This place is authentic. The meals are mix and match. Anyway you want them. People came in asking for different combinations, and there was never an issue. You want beans on the rice and gandules? OK. Whatever you want, they will try and serve. The prices are awesome for the amount of food they give you.For dessert, I got a quesito. It brought me right back to the islands. The whole meal was excellent. The service is outstanding. The whole place gives you a feel of the islands. Everybody who came in while I was there seemed excited to order and eat. Depending on the day, it can get pretty crowded here though. It's great on weekdays or off hours on weekends, but during peak brunch time, I would not go here with a large group.Parking: The parking lot is free and a very short walk from Brown Stone House, but during peak hours, you may not find a spot. There are other free parking lots nearby though and the nearby restaurants don't all have the same busy times as Brown Stone House, so that helps.“

This was my first time trying the food, everything was delicious, portions huge. You can order larger, family style meals several days in advance & it's BYOB (love it). I was very surprised by everything as the outside along with the name of the restaurant doesn't remotely sound like an Italian restaurant. I would definitely take the ride just to eat here again.“

Calling out timings, when they can take the next order, just a very well oiled machine it was impressive. The food was good and made properly. The prices were much better than NYC. We got 6 donuts, 3 bacon egg and cheese on croissants and a muffin, for less than $25 bucks.Good place to pick something up before getting back on the road“

“I just went to DD and I dropped my phone in the driver drive-through and there was a Spanish kid in the drive-through that picked up my phone off the ground and he was so helpful. I didn’t catch his name. However, I tried to call Duncan to talk to a supervisor to let them know that the kid in the drive-through was wonderful and his customer service was awesome, however the person that picked up the phone doesn’t speak any English and it was very rude. It was some lady and I don’t know her name but she was very rude. Other than that the dunkin is OK.“
“I was a manager at McDonalds many years ago, so I tend to be more critical when I visit. I travel all over the eastern side of the country and have been in hundreds of McDonald"s. They have ranged from adequate to severely lacking, never very good. But this McDonal's is the exception. Food is always hot, fresh, juicy, and delicious, regardless of time of day. Best McDonald's food I have had in many, many years. I know how difficult that is to accomplish, the owner of this McDonald's should be commended.“
