Buckets of charm to this amazing cafe adjacent to the lobby of an equally charming hotel, The Duncan. Ambience was relaxed, comfortable and mellow with lots of droll design details to fill in one's experience. I can't think of a better spot in New Haven for a rendezvous. Added bonus of being on the same block as the mid-century architectural landmark Rudolph Hall, by brutalist master and Yale icon, Paul Rudolph. And the coffee & croissant were fab too!

Quality of coffee: 4 - good espresso drinks. I've tried them a couple dozen times and they have become more consistent this past year or so. There are flavoring options like hazelnut etc. Coffee (black) is slightly above average. Atmosphere: 4.5 - great seating areas and nooks in a historic hotel.
