“This is my first time trying Columbian food and I am hooked!!!!! The AL Pastor Columbian style Arepas is by far one of the most delicious things I have had in a long time. The cornbread base was sweet without being cloying and mixed with the pork and pineapple, OH MY GOD! My dish came with a side of some of the most flavorful rice I have ever had and it was topped with some sweet plantains. The serving is more than generous. I'm a big girl and I am easily getting 2 meals out of my order. The prices are very reasonable! Do yourself a favor and find this hidden gem while you are in town. You will not be disappointed!“

“I visited blue tortuga on a Monday evening for a friends birthday. The chicharrón with guacamole was great, the main dish was out of this world. The French toast dessert was amazing. The service was great, highly recommend.“

“Just because the owners may appear Chinese that does not mean they did not immigrate from Puerto Rico. Many Chinese who lived in Cuba emigrated to Puerto Rico after Castro in 1959, and from PR they later came to the mainland US, especially the New York area. I've been coming here for years and I can tell you the food is authentic and excellent.“

“The atmosphere is intimate, the empanada's are so amazing, with a very creative variety!! It is clear that this is a labor of love, and your palette will benefit in a big way. I also, happen to catch a couple of event nights there that were really enjoyable. One, displayed a artists paintings, and the other was an open mic night, anyone was welcome. That was most enjoyable.. Put this on your "must" list!!“

“Never fails to be a great meal!“
“Visited here primarily through Too Good to Go orders. In fact, it's my primary reason for coming here so often, almost every night. I think the guys behind the counter might know me at this point. Their surprise boxes come with an empanada, rice, beans, and a little salad. One time I got a box with a bunch of chicken quesadillas. God bless these guys.“

“I stopped here for lunch to go and was very happy with my meal. I got some kind of pork (I don’t speak Spanish, so that’s the most I know), rice, beans, and plantains! They had a lot of options, the food was hot, the cost was reasonable and the service was fast. I will definitely be back.“

“Sabor is the BEST spot in downtown New Haven for Latin/Caribbean food. Truly a hidden gem in the city. I love it--the people there are so nice, the food feels like a warm hug, and it reminds me of my mother's Cuban cooking. Super authentic. What a spot!“
