They have an extensive drink selection be it sake, wine or whiskey so one can always go back to try more. We had the premium sake flight, American Wagyu curry, anchovy fries (10/10 recommend), uni and braised short rib“

“If customer service was a restaurant, Barcelona is it! We were visiting a friend in the city and he recommended doing tapas to try different things. He suggested Barcelona and talked proudly about their brussel sprouts. However, when we got their our waitress said they no longer had them. She could have stopped there. Instead, she said she'd asked the kitchen what other vegetables could they prepare like the brussel sprouts. Then, she brought out a complimentary order of leeks for us to taste. THEY WERE AMAZING. My friend asked if they still did half bottles of wine on Sunday. They no longer do but she brought a sample of a wine she recommended. Meanwhile, a female manager came out to apologize for not having the brussel sprouts and wanted to know if we'd enjoyed the leeks. The waitress came back to check on us several times and was so super sweet. My friend was simply asking if they still did the drink chips for completing the survey. She was like, we are 3 for 3 on not being able to fulfill your request; let me get you a free dessert. She left to get the dessert and another manager, Kenneth came over. He'd found some tokens and gave them to my friend. He not only brought the chips over, he took the time to talk with us about some of the changes they've made. He also talked about life, kindness, and customer service. When the waitress returned with the cake, thanked us again for coming and kept the most polite disposition. They didn't have to do ANYTHING, and we weren't looking for them to. But they went SO above and beyond, and it was all proactive. This was by far one of THE BEST experiences I've had and I can't say enough about how great Barcelona is. I'll definitely be back!“

“I came in for Restaurant Week and just about had to be rolled out the door! I caught the tail end of happy hour, so I started with a mojito and a couple of oysters, both of which were quite nice. The mojito may well be the best in New Haven, as they claim, but it would be even better if they used granulated sugar or demerara instead of simple syrup. Still, very yummy! For the first course of the prix fixe I did the salmon tartar, which was very interesting. There's mustard and capers mixed in with the salmon, which gave a nice zip that went great with the avocado. I could also have eaten an entire bowl of the potato and plantain chips! Second course was the lomo saltado, which had a lot going for it. Putting the fries on top kept them nice and crispy, and the fried egg with the perfectly cooked rice was lovely. The meat and veggies were also super tender. My only complaint was that I like my saltado saucy, and this was pretty dry, so there wasn't much for the rice and fries to soak up. Still good, but could be better. Dessert was the passionfruit flan, and it was so good I almost gave five stars just for that. It was tangy without being too sour, and the whipped cream cut the acid perfectly. I have no notes--I'll literally probably come back just for dessert!“

“Intimate dining area, great food, and delicious drinks - what more could you ask for? Definitely recommend a reservation for this place considering how small it is. The empanadas were spectacular. We got the three variety of empanadas and not one of the flavors was bad. For my main course I got the ropa vieja. SPECTACULAR. And the tres leches cake… in a league of its own. Go here immediately!“

“Very warm and welcoming vibe. The barista greeted us as we walked in and was very friendly throughout the entire experience. We ordered a "Bistro ham" sandwhich and Turkey and Avocado sandwich along with a lemonade and a chai latte. The sandwiches were incredible and while we waited, we were able to check out the "little free library" set up in the store window. Very reasonable pricing and very filling food! Overall great experience and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a cozy place to get some work done and grab a good lunch while you're at it!“

“We had a fantastic night at Pearl Wine Bar! We have never been before and sat on their beautiful back patio -- top notch construction, with a full bar w large granite counter, several covered tables, high tops and low comfortable chairs, and heaters (although we sure didn't need them tonight!). We had drinks, bread with honey butter (yum), and shared the shrimp tacos (perfect seasoning) and the honey chicken (the fries were delicious). Our server Alicia was outstanding, and the bus person was great too. A great new location for us in Branford -- we'll be back.“

“Sunday Brunch was flavorful, mimosa was, well a mimosa . The server was kind enough to put an orange slice when requested. I have included a couple of photos, I find this helpful when searching for a place to dine. Shrimp and Corn Chowder was sweet from the grilled fresh corn, and tender shrimp. Herbs and peppered perfectly. No salt detected which was a pleasant surprise! Served with a slice of grilled sourdough topped this flavorful starter without question! Lobster Benedict was actually Devine! Eggs were perfectly poached, plump sweet lobster chunks, balanced perfectly with chewy toasted ciabatta. Potatoes were tasty, tender and seasoned with sofitas (?) so good. Tiny diced red onions, peppers and herbs scattered made the entire meal flavorful and fresh. Certainly enough space for a crowd, and an equal amount of two seat tables snuggled in corners for a quiet meal for one. Thank you!“
