I just finished eating a plate from here for the first time (burrito Al pastor) after picking it up on my way home from work. It was excellent. Truly good, above my expectations, better than half the trucks at long wharf. The service was kind and efficient. There were people sitting down an hour before close on a Tuesday night. My immediate impression was that this is an establishment that has built a solid reputation and community of regulars, which makes me feel good about returning here. And again, my burrito Al pastor was delectable and worth the price (which sadly can be rare these days on both counts). It actually made me feel happy. Looking forward to trying more items from their menu, which features many attractive items while also being refreshingly streamlined. Perhaps best of all, they had grapefruit Jarritos in stock! This is the best flavor of soda, objectively. Good on them. Even if you're just in West Haven to visit the beach, it's worth it to walk the half mile or so inland to come here, especially since Iishin ramen shut down (RIP Iishin, this town didn't deserve you.)”

“I’ve been a regular here since Day 1 and I can’t believe I didn’t post a review until NOW!! What can I say, it’s the best seafood in West Haven HANDS DOWN! The oysters are fresh, the lobster rolls are the best, and the mussels for 2 is so flavorful. The staff are like family and welcome you with open arms. For drinks, I recommend the manhattans, old fashioned, espresso martinis and dirty martini with the blue cheese stuffed olives (YUM!). Their Moby’s lager is delicious and there’s a great selection of tequila. The bartenders are the best around! My favorite dishes are the lobster Mac, Lobster Rolls, Tuna Sushimi Oysters, Oysters Rockefeller, and tuna tartare. Trust me, you will not be disappointed with your dining experience! Nick and the crew will take good care of you. I’m a customer for life ❤️”

“We happened to stumble into Elm Diner by chance, and what a find it turned out to be. The moment we walked in, the bright, welcoming atmosphere and spotless space immediately stood out. Then came Nicole, our waitress, greeting us with a genuine smile that made us feel like we’d been coming there for years.

The menu is impressively extensive, offering something for everyone. When our salad arrived, it was fresh, crisp, and generous just like the rest of the meal. Our dishes were flavorful and satisfying.

Nicole was exceptional, and the entire staff added to the experience with their friendliness and energy. There’s a real sense of camaraderie here that you don’t find everywhere.

If you’re anything like me, this place will set the bar for every diner you visit afterward. Every once in a while, you come across a restaurant that truly has it all, and Elm Diner is that rare gem.

“We dined in last night (10/12/23) we had a party of 5. Our server was top notch, our meals were extremely delicious and outstanding in their presentations. The photos do not do any justice. I had Shrimp Fra Diavolo, Pinot Grigio White and my wife and I shared the Carrot Cake.”

When we got there to celebrate a girl's day out Riley was there, our waitress Shelly pointed her out so I could go over and introduce myself. Not only did EVERYONE treat us like we had been going there for years and were family, but Alissa made REALLY GREAT DRINKS and the FOOD WAS FANTASTIC. My sister had a couple cosmos, and my other friend and I had the chocolate martinis which were WONDERFUL!!! We had chicken tacos, fries and the Burbon pork belly bites were SOOOO GOOD you would want to slap anyone who tried to grab any. This was truly a good time and although it was busy, loud and was SOOOOOO MUCH FUN because everyone was fabulous. I will look forward to going back next time I'm in Connecticut.”

“Jimmy at Golden Dragon is a really nice guy and the food is excellent. The best Chinese in West Haven. The chicken fingers are fried to perfection. The fried rice is perfect, not mushy, not too hard- just right. The General Tsoas (?) chicken stayed crispy despite the sauce. The egg rolls are crispy and stuffed with goodness. Plus they have a ton of specials all the time that aren’t on the menu. I highly recommend them. We don’t go anywhere else anymore. We definitely support this business.”

“This place is amazing! I’ve had such a great experience every time I’ve been here. The atmosphere is always fun, welcoming, and full of energy. The staff is incredibly friendly and works hard to make sure everyone has a great time. You can tell they truly care about their customers.

I know some people compare it to the newer, more expensive clubs, but not everyone is looking for a super fancy or high-end place. Sometimes all you want is great music, a fun crowd, good drinks, and a place where you can actually enjoy yourself—and this club has all of that.

One thing I especially love is how much room there is to dance. It’s a nightclub, after all! The lighting and party atmosphere make the whole experience even more exciting, and the music always keeps the energy up. The drinks are great, and the bartenders are always friendly and quick.

This club has been around for many years, and I think that says a lot. Businesses don’t stay open for decades unless they’re doing something right and have loyal customers who keep coming back. It’s great to see that they’re continuing to improve the place while still keeping the fun atmosphere that so many people enjoy.

“So I typically have a great sandwich here, but the other day I placed an order over the phone for my grandfather’s birthday, and when I showed up too early to pick up the order I thought I heard they didn’t have one type of meats for the ‘Sweet Italian Combo’ (of course my grandfather’s sandwich, out of all of them ordered). I thought nothing of it as nobody said a word to me from behind the counter. Grabbed the orders and paid, get home and it was a grilled chicken sandwich with ham (random combination) BUT was labeled as the Sweet Italian. It all made sense now, and I was not mistaken from what I heard. The Provy Brother’s would of never of pulled that ‘stunt’ and would have been transparent that they did not have the available meat(s) for the sandwich instead of making whatever they decided AND labelling it as the requested sandwich when it was not. Yes, the sandwich was still good, but imagine my grandfather’s surprise on his 86th birthday that his favorite sandwich he ordered from his favorite sandwich shop was not what he ordered or wanted on his special day. Please don’t EVER do that again to anyone. That was messed up and you all know what you did. And yes, we will give you all another chance as your sandwiches are always great. Just please be honest to your loyal customers.”

“My friend & I wanted to try the fruit shaped desserts. I really enjoyed the hazelnut one as well as the lemon. The pineapple I thought did not really taste like pineapple at all. It was ok, just no pineapple. Tasted more like toasted coconut. The mango one was also very good. The tiramisu cake was devine but I actually didn't care too much for the tiramisu shaped cup dessert. The seating was so cute. We sat & shared two desserts between the two of us which actually made us purchase a few more of the desserts each! The service was a little slow, as all 3 of the staff went behind the counter doors. One time I called HELLO for them, the second time I found a bell to ring. Very nice people though. I would go back.”
