“My friend, who had never had Korean food absolutely LOVED the place. We ordered the tteokboki with cheese, kimchi jeon and tofu bibimbop and udon noodles. The food was AMAZING. I would definitely go back again. The staff were particularly nice as well.“

“Everything is always so good here! I love that you get soup AND salad with your meals plus lots of bread warm and fresh. The portions are huge and delicious! The servers are very friendly and the atmosphere is relaxing. It is one of the very few remaining West Haven gems that still put quality and freshness first! Love it here!“

“So glad there’s a cute old diner with lots of vegan and gluten free options! The tempeh tacos were excellent! The staff were probably ready for us to leave because we have four neurodivergent kids, some with high needs in certain settings, so we certainly were not quiet. We ate inside not being offered outside options. It appears they have a patio in the back, so we would have done better there. Luckily most of the kids ate their grilled cheese and my friend loved her salad. We don’t live close do you probably won’t see us again, but I highly recommend the diner despite the dirty looks from staff.“

“The food was phenomenal, so good that we had to bring our whole family here twice the same week. I had the Chorizo, and Asada burritos which were decently sized, they come with guacamole. The atmosphere was perfect with the tables and chairs being hand painted (I think). Service is another 10/10, they gave us free churros both times, and gave us chips and refried beans as a type of “unlimited side”. They were so kind wishing us happy mother’s days. Overall experience was a 10/10 and I will definitely recommend my other family members here.“

“I've been stopping at the Sandbar for a couple years now, My usual Go to items are whole belly clam rolls or dinner and a Scallop roll or dinner The seafood is always cooked to order, Battered and deep fried and is always delicious While the restaurant might not seem spectacular to some, its a nice place to pop into if you like battered seafood not overcooked but just perfectly cooked its easy to miss leaving elm st if you get on the Kimberly Ave Bridge into New Haven you went past, coming from New Haven cross the bridge and its right at the foot of the bridge on the right side“

“We’ve been ordering from here for the past few months, and it’s become our go-to place for Chinese takeout. We almost always get the General Tso’s Chicken and the Chicken Lo Mein, and ask them to make both dishes spicy. They always get it just right. The food is flavorful, fresh, and consistently delicious every time. The General Tso’s Chicken has a great balance of crispy, sweet, and spicy, and the Chicken Lo Mein is always cooked perfectly. It’s hard to find a takeout place that’s this consistent, and we’ve had a great experience every time we’ve ordered. Definitely recommend it if you’re looking for really good Chinese food!“

“Our server was excellent. It was LOUD. Granted it was a Friday night, but even so, the place was incredibly loud. We only had just four people, and still all of us had trouble hearing one another. They should really put stuff on the walls to absorb the sound. (And they could put beautiful Mexican fabrics up, win/win.) Appetizers we good, but not great, but we all liked our entrees. Will definitely go again.“
