My friend & I wanted to try the fruit shaped desserts. I really enjoyed the hazelnut one as well as the lemon. The pineapple I thought did not really taste like pineapple at all. It was ok, just no pineapple. Tasted more like toasted coconut. The mango one was also very good. The tiramisu cake was devine but I actually didn't care too much for the tiramisu shaped cup dessert. My favorite hot chocolate and croissant place. I loved their customer service as well. They’ve recently updated their interior. Looks aesthetic.

La Morlaquita Bakery in West Haven is a hidden gem. Customers have tried the fruit shaped desserts and fruit inspired pastries, calling them absolutely delicious and beautiful. The pear was delicious, with a thin white chocolate outer shell and a light mousse inside with a spiced pear in the middle. The pear and rose pastries were full of flavor with smooth mousse and fresh fruit inside. The hazelnut, lemon, mango, and raspberry pistachio croissant pastries were enjoyed, and the tiramisu was rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced, not overly sweet. The tiramisu cake was devine. The chocolate was the right thickness. One pineapple dessert tasted more like toasted coconut. The seating was so cute. The service was a little slow, but the people were very nice. The bakery also has home made breads, cakes, cookies, and some breakfast and lunch items, including a bacon and egg sandwich that was fresh, warm, and perfectly made. Everything tasted fresh, and the presentation makes you want to try one of everything. Definitely worth the visit and would visit again.
