Quick service
Good quality sourdough bread but quite expensive.
The absolute best bagels I've ever had! I couldn't wait to rip open the bag and try them. They smell amazing, they look amazing, and (surprise surprise) they taste amazing! The service was absolutely amazing. The person behind the counter was so kind and helpful, walking me though everything that they offer! If you're in the area, you MUST go!

East Rock Breads is a fantastic neighborhood bakery in New Haven. The bagels are the absolute best, and the sour dough sandwich bread is the best in New Haven. The crust is beautifully crisp, the inside soft and airy, and the flavor has that perfect tang. The challah bread is perfect for French toast. There is a wide variety of baked goods and pastries. The loaves are delicious and reasonably priced for the quality. The purple sweet potato bread is the best. The onion bread with whipped cream cheese is so good. The chicken pot pie hand-held is loved. The pear ginger scone is amazing. The kolaches, which are Czech pastries, are absolutely amazing, including the ham and asparagus and strawberry rhubarb. The pastry is airy and light, not overly sweet. There are chocolate and pistachio croissants and brioche bread. There is coffee available as well, cold brew and pour over. Day old baked goods such as baguettes and bagels are available for $5. The service is amazing, kind, helpful, super friendly, and efficient. It is a pick up and go place with no seating inside. They often sell out quick. There are amazing specialty breads announced weekly on Instagram. There is an item or two new weekly. It is take out only with street parking.
