Please believe the bad reviews! i didn't and regretted it… food is nasty and over-priced. The shakes aren't that great either! They used the chocolate syrup to make the milkshake not even chocolate ice cream. The place smelled like pee as soon as we walked in. Fried mac and cheese was gross.. Korean fried cauliflower was soggy and disgusting! i have had the same thing at the cheesecake factory a million times and its always crispy and delicious. NEVER AGAIN

Epik Diner is a real dining experience that we almost missed. Beautful diner with amazing food selections. The salmon is cooked to perfection. The gyro is tasty. The deserts are prepared with creativity and flavor. The service is excellent. Greek, Italian, salads, American fare. It's all here.We would eat here again and drive to make it an event meal. They need a new sign that catches your attention so you don't miss this amazing restaurant. It was worth the drive from Virginia. Hidden gem.

I was wondering why this place was dead during lunch hour. Between the slow service and the frankly dangerous food, I think this place will be gone sooner rather than later. The servers all are gathered in a corner talking loudly to each other while guests are wondering when they will at least get to order drinks. Let alone food. I went here with my wife for a quick lunch date, (because Katz was too busy). She ordered a small roast beef sandwich and a side salad with no onions. I ordered a buffalo chicken fry bowl. As soon as we saw the food, we knew. Her salad came out with extra onions, and the ROAST BEEF WAS WELL BEYOND SPOILED. I even had the server come and smell the beef, and even she recoiled at the sour smell of the roast beef. My food had obviously been microwaved as the fries were super oily and soft. Some of the fries were green and raw. Never going here again. Please see pictures. You have been warned.

We stopped at Epik Diner on our way to Boston. What an amazing experience. Our server Monica was helpful, courteous and provided excellent service. The menu had so many choices that it was hard to pick. All our selections were absolutely delicious. And to top it off the Diner had an amazing selection of desserts. Highly recommend this diner if you’re ever in New Haven.

Top quality food in New Haven. Great atmosphere. Pleasant staff. Met the owner George who is very friendly and pays attention to detail. The kids absolutely loved the fancy milkshakes. The Greek dish I had was perfect. You know a restaurant is really good when the owner has been featured in a cable TV cooking show. George cooked for Guy Fierre on one of his shows.Came back with the kids for food and milkshakes. Was excellent.

Epik Diner has delicious food. My favorite thing are the pancakes, which are golden, warm, and fluffy. They give a huge amount of food and the leftover food I brought home stayed fresh throughout a long walk. They also have a variety of beverages. I was intrigued with the different kind of juices. The pineapple juice was really good.

Been eating here since the 1970's but recently it seems to be on its last legs - no customers, one guy waiting tables and cooking, food suboptimal. I'll see if they bounce back after Covid but otherwise I won't be back.

I ordered the Veggie omelet with a pancake. The omelet was delicious and so was the pancake. I would go there again. The service was great!

Everyone was very kind! Food was quick and delicious! I ordered the blueberry muffin (please get it grilled) and the eggs Benedict salmon! So good!

The food was alright, nothing special. Some fries tasted like fish. It didn’t seem like their air conditioning was on. Waitress was attentive.

The food was ok. The drinks were good. It’s changed though.

I am sad to write this but I have to agree with the other recent reviewers. This used to be a solid neiborhood dinner. It seems that it has recently fallen under new management and oh boy has the quality taken a nose dive. First off the service: You can tell they are trying but they don't have any staff and they are very disorganized really not very polite. Second off the food: It is a little pricey and not at all good. I went with a friend for breakfast and both of us ended up having to choke down the food we were served. I Ordered eggs Benedict (egg whites not cooked and they used powered stop and shop brand holindais mix.) My friend ordered an omlet which came a little burnt and with toasted bread that was clearly past its expiration date. I won't be going back but I do truly hope these people can get their selves togeather because their restruant is not going to last like this.

Extremely disappointed. Used to be a go-to diner for years but new owners really brought this place down. Went on a Sunday morning and there was only one other table there besides us. The temp outside was in the high 80s, but it felt hotter and more humid inside. Not only did they not have the AC running but they didn't even have the overhead fans on and just kept the doors open. Seemed to be only two people working. They only gave half of our group of 5 water even though we asked for a pitcher. Food came out really slow for there only being two groups there. We all got basic breakfast food, eggs, omelets, toast and bacon. While it was not awful it was nothing special, and considerably worse than before the new ownership. Portions were also extremely small for diner food. Plus, they only gave each person one little thing of Heinz jelly (I've never seen heinz jelly in my life, let alone been to a diner that does not leave a tray of smuckers jelly on the table, but thats besides the point). As we were finishing up we over heard the other group of costumers arguing with what seemed to be the manager about splitting the bill, which seemed odd for a diner. As we went up to pay, we asked to split the $80 bill as well. We had five people and each had over a $15 tab so it's really not a strange request, especially at a diner. The owner got extremely defensive, saying we never split the bill and no other diner does that, so figure it out and pay. As we were figuring out who was going to pay the bill, the owner kept making snarky comments, saying "everything correct on the bill just pay". We ended up paying and asked for an itemized receipt so we can pay back the person who fronted the bill. He showed us the tablet and said "figure it out", not willing to print out an itemized receipt and expecting us to write it down or take a picture. I'm so disappointed because this spot used to be a staple in the community, but theses new owners really made it awful. I don't see myself ever going back. Also, what diner closes at 7:00PM?!?!?
