Wonderful dinner had the three course special meatball, chicken parmigiana, linguine garlic mushroom butter sauce. The meatball was savory, chicken parm was tender and linguine was tasty with crisp mushrooms. Our waiter surprised me with a piece or tiramisu mouth watering. Would highly recommend this restaurant for any dinner plans. Waiter was friendly and attentive. Will go back.

If you're fussy about pasta and want it cooked to al dente perfection, Basta is the place for you. Everything we had was delicious from meatballs to the scrumptious tiramisu. Can't wait to go back.

Food wasn't bad. But they had no clams, mussels, or steak on a Thursday night. Plan for success!

Exceptionally welcoming staff and above average service overall. The meal was delicious and I would highly recommend. 10/10

We live nearby and went here for a Saturday dinner. The atmosphere&service is great! We ordered the meatball which is wonderful. Both me and my boyfriend loved the food and will definitely be returning soon!

Basta is one of my favorite Italian restaurants in New Haven. The restaurant is very cozy and has delicious food. The last time I went with my friend, I had the Farfalle funghi, which was creamy and flavorful (the porcini mushrooms and the prosciutto go incredibly well together).

I was at Basta Trattoria on 3/31, during restaurant week. Excellent menu and very efficient service. The place is also quite nice.

Bread was delicious. Salad was good. Chicken was tough. Penna alla vodka was very good. Best creme brulee of our lives.

This is place is absolutely amazing! All the pastas are exquisite and perfectly seasoned. They have a fantastic wine selection as well!

I ordered 2 meals and it wasn't good at all! I spent including tip 90.00 dollars. I asked for no capers in the meal scaloppini di Pollo, it was loaded with capers and the chicken was hard and tasted uncooked. I also ordered Pollo alla Parmigiana; the chicken was mushy and tasted terrible. This was my first time ordering from Basta Trattoria. It was overpriced and of poor quality and flavor. We will not be returning.

They serve the most authentic Italian food around here! Their pasta, appetizers and desserts are amazing. Extremely friendly owner and crew.

We dropped in for a late night dinner. The food portions were on-par for the price that we paid. Dress was upscale casual. 3 entrees and an appetizer were over a $100 after tax. Pasta was good and decent, however, not outstanding. I don't recommend getting the meatball.

We ordered take out from here 2 weeks ago and for 2 people it was $90. The meatballs were so bad I had one bite and threw the rest in the garbage. The Cesar salads were worse than fast food with bitter dressing and no cheese. A total waste of money. Avoid at all costs.
