My fiancé and I absolutely love Casanova! As someone who is a bit of a picky eater at times, I can confidently say that the food here is delicious and well balanced.

The ambience is great - classy, elegant, and not overwhelmingly packed on most nights, meaning that you can enjoy conversation with your meal and take a break from New Haven’s bustling energy.

And, to top it off, all the staff here are lovely and attentive! 10/10 recommend stopping by!

Food presentation was overall great, service was ok ( waited an hour to eat at being seated promptly). Servers were kind and attentive.
Being so we waited an hour to eat , we asked the other patrons if their food was delicious and we all had the same experience, mid at best. I would return for dessert and appetizers only. The food lacks flavor. Atmosphere great , esthetics are beautiful updated fixtures and seating. Energetic atmosphere great music.

Unreasonably overpriced and extremely bland food. $30+ for entrees, no sides. Service was ok someone brought food to our table. The nonsensical names of the cocktails made me laugh.

I have been waiting to try this place out! The picture online look beautiful and appetizing, but to my surprise it was a disappointment. The service was very mid. The guy never check up on us. He was there when we sat down and before we left. The atmosphere was definitely one of its kind. They use their space very well. Now the food 😭😭😭 just bland, every bite I took had no flavor at all. From the porkchops to the chicken. I will go back to taste their pizza, but please add some seasoning or even salt to your food! I would hate for such a beautiful spot to go down.

We walked up randomly on a busy night and they managed to find us a table. The deviled eggs and the margarita pizza were both delicious. The entire staff did a fantastic job of keeping everything moving along smoothly and ensuring a great experience.

Pizza was thin crust and amazing!
Corn ravioli was excellent!
I was not crazy about the Ceasar salad.
Overall it was a comfortable, upscale place with great service and we would love to go back there!

Casanova Restaurant is a real gem in New Haven! Our server, Lonnie, was attentive and friendly, making the evening enjoyable. I tried the Cioppino Seafood Stew over spaghetti with lobster tail, mussels, clams, shrimp, scallops, and calamari — it was outstanding. Every bite was full of flavor and perfectly cooked. For dessert, the tiramisu was light, creamy, and just right. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the service matched the quality of the food. Highly recommend Casanova for anyone looking for authentic Italian dining in New Haven!

Last night we had a stellar meal at Casanova. The great service started the moment we entered , and were warmly welcomed. Our table greatly enjoyed drinks, appetizers ( especially deviled eggs) and no one had anything but raving reviews about their meal. Oh and dessert , the tiramisu (knocked out of the park!). Put it on your to go list, and enjoy the ambience , experience and most important the delicious food!! We even got a special visit by the chef! Definitely will be back soon!

Beautiful restaurant! The pizza was amazing, sad I didn’t get to try the past. Next time. And the Cream Puffs are a must. They are made in house and are delicious. Great place for dinner or lunch. Soooo good! 😊

I stumbled upon this amazing restaurant by accident and it was the best food accident I made during my trip to New Haven. The food, service, atmosphere and overall experience was amazing. If you're undecided as to where to eat a quality, fresh Italian meal in this local area, do yourself a favor and stop looking, just come to this spot. Joe, the executive Chef and owner is the kindest guy around and he loves to engage with guests and chat. I'd give the review six stars but sadly there were two women sitting next to me bothering me the entire time I was trying to eat and so I guess the security isn't great there but maybe they have to let ALL members of the community in. That being said, check it out! Bravo Chef Joe, BRAVO!

5 stars, but only just. Here's the breakdown:
- Spicy vodka pasta. Pretty delicious. They did ask if wanted extra chicken and I asked for how much it was. 10$ extra. 28$ pasta dish. Kinda pricy. (They don't communicate price extras on the menu which seems slightly misleading, I had to ask). The chicken wasn't the best I've had though. Seemed a bit dry.
- Pork cutlet. Pretty good, but nothing crazy.
- Shrimp, not my thing but decent.

Was planning for this to be a 4-star overall review but the deserts saved it. They were kinda huge and too sweet for me to eat all of it, but the first few bites were very delcious.
- Tiramasu, looks a little weird with the light chocolate flakes and the perfectly sized bread squares. Still really good.
- Pistaccio ice cream. Scrumptious, no notes
notes
- Cream puffs really delicious as well

Some other notes:
- Wish they brought water refills when we ran out (I saw another review that said the same)
- The books are a nice addition, gives you something to distract yourself reading.
- The silverware is very cool
