I stopped by here for breakfast on a weekend in New Haven. The place had a casual, cozy atmosphere. The service was quick. The muffin egg sandwich was tasty. And the acai bowl my friend got was pretty good even though the acai core was very frozen. If I'm ever in the city again, I'd go again.
Given the reviews and the hype our visit was a disappointment. Service was slow although the server did apologise. Acia bowl looked nothing like the pictures and the avocado toast was soggy with what appeared to be lime juice. Asked for bacon to be added but this never arrived and had to ask for the muffin we ordered after waiting for 40 minutes. Reviewed as average is being generous 😟

Love this spot! recommend if you're in the area. Staff is very welcoming
Came on a Saturday morning while on a visit to New Haven. Staff were friendly, prices were very reasonable, and the atmosphere was really inviting. Big windows and hardwood floors. I'd come here again.

Great place for breakfast. Stopped in on a weekday morning. No wait. Cute cafe. Food was delicious. Would definitely go back if we lived in area.
Wonderful. This place is a must!! Not busy on a Wednesday morning. Ordered two egg sandwiches adding bacon to both, one on English muffin and one on croissant. Sandwiches perfectly made. London Fog with one pump lavender, finely a cup of tea that is HOT not luke warm. Could not really taste the lavender but still good. Lady taking order acted as though she had never done anything like this and it was crazy. Daughter got ice vanilla latte with cold foam on top. She said it’s the best she’s had in town as of now. As I was walking around the counter lady said can I help you with something. It was slightly off putting like I could not look around at everything. Maybe she thought I was lost?. Women who called our order and handed it to us was very pleasant. Definitely spot in here for a yummy start to your day.

What a wonderful experience. Place is very quiet, even when bustling with multiple tables. A great place to read. They have the best muffins you will ever taste in your life, you will never forget them. It has a beautiful, homey feel in a way that is still very refined. The avocado toast was very good, especially with an extra egg added. Fresh squeezed orange juice was the perfect color. Their iced drinks are great, they use crushed ice which really makes the flavor pop and keeps the drink icey cold on a hot day. Looking forward to coming back.
Cute little cafe in the heart of downtown, not too far from Union Station. I was greeted warmly and really enjoyed the ambiance. Great coffee and chai latte, and the muffin was excellent as well.

Our favorite New Haven cafe! Great coffee, sandwiches, smoothies and the BEST muffins! The food is made to order so it’s always hot and fresh. Tom, the owner, is kind and always takes care of his customers!

The place is not bad, but I think the coffee could be better. I ordered two Nutella Latte and I think they forgot the Nutella. The food wasn’t bad. The bathroom was dirty. I think there are things that can be improved.

Visited Cedarhurst Cafe for the first time and had a mixed but mostly positive experience. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, which made a great first impression. The vibe of the place is cute and minimal — not overdone, just cozy and pleasant. I ordered a Dirty Chai latte and it was delicious. I didn’t get a chance to try the pastries, but they looked fresh and definitely not store-bought, which I appreciated.
On the flip side, I tried the egg sandwich on a croissant and it was just okay. For the price, I was hoping for a bit more — but hey, it’s New Haven, so that’s kind of the norm. The space itself is a little tight. On a busy day, I could see it feeling a bit cramped, especially since the seating is close together and there isn’t really a place to stand while waiting for your order without feeling like you’re in someone’s way. Also, most of the chairs aren’t very size-inclusive or comfortable for curvier folks, which is a downside they should consider addressing.

A very calm, clean, and cozy cafe with great food and staff. One the only 10/10 breakfast places south of Temple & Elm streets

this was not a good experience at all, and I would never go back. First I went in and the woman who turned out to be the chef was just sitting in the restaurant playing with her phone. I ordered and it was just problems from the start. On the menu, they sell eggs individually, but would only sell them to me in threes or sixes. They have poached eggs on the menu, but the cook refused to cook them on this day. So I got over medium, but they came extra well-done I was trying to establish with the cashier if the eggs were cooked in the regular grilled grease or butter or white, and it was impossible to get a straight answer and the Cook refused to come out to talk to me directly. she was about 8 feet away. I was the only customer at the time. The avocado toast was god awful, it was ordered without egg to make it vegan, and there was egg crumble on the toast. Clearly, she put eggs on it and then took them back off and served it anyway. The whole experience was offputting The custom juice was good. It was made by the cashier not the surly cook.
Courteous and helpful.

Excellent coffee and yummy breakfast! They accommodated my gluten allergies with no issue! If you’re staying at the Omni on Temple Street, this is by far a superior option to their 19th Floor breakfast at a fraction of the cost.
