Sad sad sad sad. This place is closing up. I have MANY great memories here, and at the sister Clark's Dairy from years ago. I have not been able to eat at either place for many years because of my food restrictions (cross contamination), but I used to eat there, and LOVED their pizzas and some of the stuff on the Dairy side. I used to be a regular on Saturday mornings for years because of my teaching schedule, and I would always go there at 7:30AM, to eat a quick Breakfast. The cook: Enrique (Ricky) would know what I wanted and would already have it cooking as I entered the place. I felt at home here. It made me happy. I wanted to stay here, and chill, read the paper, write things, be left alone. Every now and then, folks I know would pop in, and we'd end up sitting together, and hang. In high school, after school, me and a few friends would often go there to hang, and decompress after a long day of brain-fry. Having grown up here, this has been one of the few places I truly felt comfortable in. Sad I haven't been able to eat there in a long time, and I wish the owner, the employees, and their families well. Congratulations on a truly great run folks. You touched so many peoples' lives. It was truly epic.

Notification on Facebook that this restaurant has sadly closed forever because of the COVID shutdowns. They reopened for takeout last week but apparently too many people too scared to go out for food. Maybe they should have offered takeout all along as other places did. I'm glad I got to go there last week; I had no idea this was going to happen. I've eaten at Clark's since my Yale days 30+ years ago. There are almost no places in New Haven where you can get a wallet-friendly diner-style meal any more. I am truly sad.

I sent my friends to this place with my highest recommendations. I visit this place often. This recommendation is always successful. The the cooking is great and the team is efficient and cooperative. Every time we visit this place we enjoy a pleasant evening. I warmly recommend this restaurant.

Inexpensive, large portions, family friendly, and good variety! Friendly personable service. Great milkshakes too!

Food is consistently good, prices are reasonable, wide selection on the menu

Food was so good and came out fast. The soup was the best chicken soup I've had, very hearty and tasty. Portions were too big to finish but we took it home along with a rice pudding which was perfectly made.

Watch six tables get served that came in after us, 45 min later, asked waitress about our food, she responded, "you were the last people to come in" Great customer service, really?

Good quick breakfast close to the Peabody museum, which was our next stop.

Old school diner in the middle of the city. Don't expect organic high end anything. Just old school and greek food. Service can be a bit slow at times but it's part of the charm. The ice cream is super and the grinders are amazing.

As good as I remembered! Last time I was here it was 1980 and I was a teenager. In my trip journal I wrote about Clark's pizza. Still good and great diner atmosphere in this little place. Lots of variety on the menu, too.

Acceptable but decidedly subpar customer service. Trash left out on table, though decent enough atmosphere inside, like a typical diner with plenty of seating, way too much seating considering it was completely empty at 4:35 PM

$3 for a slice of pizza. Which really was not good. My kid didn't want to finish it and that's saying a lot bc she loves pizza. Imagine that pizza you get from the little mini pizza hut in a target or whole sale foods place but worse (so much grease also). Just dont go here for pizza is all I can say.

I like my pancakes thin, eggy, and intense [insert "like my men" joke here]. Clark's pancakes are my kind of pancakes. Clark's pancakes are the best iteration of my kind of pancakes that I've ever had. Clark's pancakes are the pancakes that would motivate me to go out for pancakes rather than for waffles. Accompany this with perfectly crisp bacon and fresh coffee, and here is the breakfast of thin-pancake-loving champions. In the future, I'd skip home fries (everyone undercooks them around here, where are the crisp bits) and scrambled eggs (they're the very well-mixed kind, though at least they stopped short of becoming egg leather). I have not tried lunch or dinner, so if you're thinking lobster rolls or pizza, I have no guidance for you. There is, however, baklava for takeout at the counter. Few things are more endearing than to-go baklava. Service was Connecticut diner service. Nothing bad happened, the wait was reasonable. This was the kind of Sunday where everyone's crawling around looking faintly used-up while trying to be brisk and efficient, so unobtrusive food delivery is full of win for me.

I grew up going here and if I am in the are I do enjoy lunch or a dessert there. It is a nice family style restaurant with a focus on some Greek items but has typical foods too. I personally love their cheeseburgers and fries and I have heard good things about their sandwhiches and other items.
