I never really considered myself a 'fish guy' growing up. I like shrimp, and salmon etc etc. I never would say I am crazy about it. Enter the D'Amato's Roll and D'Amato's Jr. The first time those ingredients met my pallet at age 47 when I moved back to the New Haven area, I was hooked. I doubt I could find a more fresh, flavorful fish sandwich anywhere else. The care and quality of their food is awesome! I have been back many times and it amazes me every time how fricken good the sandwiches are. You guys rock!
Parking: Parking is along Whalley Ave or Ellsworth. Looks like there may be a fenced lot in the rear that they use during busy times.

Since when does foxon park sodas come in a cup? In person i always purchase the actual bottle with the SEAL. Food is always delicious, but I ordered delivery - a foxon park soda and it came in a cup- not the usual bottle. I took the lid off and there was a bug or foreign speck in the drink. For delivery I'll pass on the $3 paper cup drink.

If you want good food served as fast as possible, come to D'Amatos! They used to be on Grand Ave, but it is the same family who owns this location and has been serving fish for over 90 years. Their fish is always cooked as crispy as you want and very well seasoned. Staff is helpful and friendly, great at making recommendations if you're not sure what you want. If you like spicy, I highly recommend the honey garlic shrimp. Great classic seafood restaurant atmosphere, with information about the D'Amato family on the walls in newspaper form. Bathroom is also spacious and clean. If you love fried seafood, you'll love D'Amato's!

I ordered a box of whole belly clams and an order of shrimp. My items were cooked perfectly. I will get 4 meals out of order. I paid $50 and it was worth every penny. I love this place.

I went here yesterday and a month ago thinking that I caught them on a bad day boy was I wrong. I brought a seafood platter which was $38.00 and I felt like I was ripped off with a smile. The portions were small. The porgies were actually pieces of strips, the small 7 dried over cooked shrimp tasted like cardboard with salt and pepper, the hush puppies were very small and the fries were soggy. I was thouroughly disappointed and will never spend another dime in this establishment. I don't know if you are now getting your fish from an aquarium but you need to post that on your menu because I most definitely felt like I was ripped off. Please People DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!
