I heard great reviews, but the food was a huge let down. The wings were dry. Nachos had all the oil New Haven can provide. Shrimp tacos are a joke. May be the place was good in the day. Definitely not during my visit.

Went on Valentines day. The V Day special halibut fish, drinks and the birria tacos were phenomenal. Service was great, I had a chance to watch the all stars dunk contest while dining. We truly enjoyed ourselves. Thank you Geronimo!

We went here for dinner recently, and it was the worst dining experience I had in a long time.

Had a reservation but they sat us outside on the patio instead of inside, which apparently didn't have any room. This would have not been issue except for the fact that this was an incredibly cold day during the winter and the patio was so uncomfortable. They had heaters, but I barely felt any heat and warmth even though I was dressed head to toes with winter clothing and snow boots. The cold was especially harsh because, for whatever reasons, they didn't want to close the door that was the entrance into the porch and restaurant, so cold frigid wind blew into the porch the entire time. I would have left except my dining companion really wanted to have dinner here.

The waiter took a long while to get our orders, and the food and slow service were not much better. We ordered the tableside guacamole, which we had gotten before, and it was a huge disappointment. The chips came frozen cold. I don't know if it was because they decided to keep the ingredients on the porch or in a fridge, but the chips were iced-cold and made for a terrible dining experience. Imagine putting chips from the freezer into your mouth, that was what it felt like. Then the food finally came, and it was overly salty and got cold quickly in the frigid porch.

But even worse was the fact that they had pre-set utensils out on the porch at each table instead of bringing them when the food comes, so by the time that we unrolled them to eat our dinner, they were iced cold metal and drained the heat from my fingers and hands. It was like paying to be uncomfortable. I was entirely over the cold, badly flavors dinner and the only reason I held my tongue back was because my companion doesn't like to give negative feedback or complaints, which is a fault with them when we spent almost $100 for a terrible dinner for 2 people. I was tired and extremely cold by the end, which was not how you wanted to feel after dinner. Not dining here ever again, and definitely not with that person.

Regardless, the experience just affirmed how thoughtless the managers, owners, and service at Geronimo are. Incredibly overpriced food and bad setting, and no thoughts about how their set ups and processes affect customers' experiences. Go elsewhere around for better, warm Southwest/Mexican food at reasonable prices.

The food is very good but definitely overpriced. Great atmosphere for a date or getting together with friends. The tacos were so small and definitely not worth what we paid. We would return for drinks but not sure we’d get entrees here again

It was our second time here. My girlfriend (we are in our 60's) went a few months back and loved it. The food, the ambiance, the service all in a bustling New Haven. We went back on 1/30 and Hugo, our wait person (who was our server at our earlier venture) was very friendly, accommodating, helpful and we really enjoyed spending some time with him. We love this place and will be back. Cocktails are a bit pricey and the noise level was moderate but decent. Highly recommend for folks wanting an excellent array of menu choices, a bright an vibrant environment and very accommodating staff and servers. You will need a rez, however.

Hugo was our server. He was efficient and very proper. We loved the food, vibes and service. Would definitely recommend.

Nice atmosphere but a little pricey for the quality of the food. Birria tacos were ok, nothing crazy. Guac was delicious but really expensive (although it was big, but still). Enchiladas were the best from what we ordered.

Food was terribly bland, what even hurt more was the price😭 Bland food that was painfully greasy.

Food and drink is outstanding, but patio seating is NOT the way to go at the end of December. I've been to other restaurants who have this type of seating, but there are not enough overhead heaters in this space to keep the area warm. And to boot; they left one of the front doors open which allowed cold air to constantly flow in, despite us shutting it once ourselves. Our waitress wore a coat and gloves to serve her guests and we couldn't take off our winter jackets while eating dinner. Will return, but only to sit indoors or wait til warmer weather to experience the patio.

Patio was freezing. I highly recommend to eat inside. Still one of my favorite places to eat but it was cold.

We had dinner there last night, and it was a wonderful meal! The service was excellent, the noise level wasn't quiet, but it wasn't loud, either. Our entrees were excellent; highly recommend the mahi mahi tacos, as well as their tostada salad (with chicken added). The wine prices are reasonable, and the desert was delish. All in all, a wonderful experience, and we'll certainly be returning soon!

It was very clear the food was hot and fresh, the service was impeccable and the server knew what she was talking about and helped us on many recommendations as it was our first time there. Would love to come back
