The food is amazing. The service was subpar- 30 wait to take our drink order. Had to ask multiple times for bread and the strong draft from the outside every time the entrance door open made for an uncomfortable experience. I would recommend for the food. The ambiance and service needs improvement.

The crab cakes were outstanding!!! I really enjoyed my steak and the calamari. The fried mozzarella was ok, nothing special and my husband enjoyed his salmon. Definitely would return. Service was slow and I was surprised by this especially since the restaurant was not full.

Encore may just be the best restaurant we have been to in CT. The menu is extensive, food is so delicious and service top notch. It's not stuffy, but elegant. The portions are generous but not overdone. We enjoyed sitting upstairs listening to piano music.

We went during restaurant week and had an amazing meal. We sat downstairs and there was a band upstairs that you could hear and enjoy. The noise level wasn't overly loud. Our serve always amazing!! The atmosphere was great too!!
Wonderful dining experience We sat on the upper level and though it was busy, it was still easy to carry on a conversation. Service was attentive and helpful. Meal was prepared perfectly even with special requests for substitutions. Highly recommend.

Went for New Haven Restaurant Week. Many great choices to choose from for all 3 courses. Food was excellent although the appetizer course could have been hotter. Service was a bit slow but understandable due to Restaurant Week. Will definitely go back

Wonderful Experience! We opted to sit at the bar which was very spacious. We had choices of food from the restaurant week menu, specials, and regular menu. The food prices were very reasonable. We chose the eggplant tower and shrimp cocktail for appetizers which were substantial and delicious. Our dinners were chicken parm and lasagna with meatballs, definitely large portions. The seasonings were perfect and everything was served efficiently. Our dessert selections were the Goodfellows cupcake and the apple crisp. They were a perfect ending. The restaurant week menu was $45 fixed price each for all of those selections. It was a great deal. We will definitely return.
