Before I went to this restaurant, I read the reviews. There were some negative reviews. I guess any restaurant can have a bad night.I have to say I had great service and the food was excellent. Vinny is the cherry on top of the the cake that runs this establishment, with a deal no resturant in New Haven can beat $40 prefix a app a salad a main and a dessert you can share this may be the best date spot in town. The good vibes and amazing drinks… must try espresso martinis make this Encore a must

We were celebrating a birthday and we had an amazing evening. The pre fixed menu had so many choices, priced right and the food was great. We will be back. The service staff was attentive and did a great job.

Our 3rd visit on the winter prefix menu. Wide selection of food choices, impeccable service. Noise level very conducive to conversation with the background live music not overly loud.  Reasonably priced wine selection by the glass or bottle. Beautiful bar. Hopefully will continue the promotion beyond the published March 31 end date. Looking forward to our return.

Appetizers were good. Main entrée was awful. Sent it back and replaced it with salmon. That was also not good. It's a shame because service was great and the ambiance was nice, but I won't be back.

The food and service were excellent. The osso buco melted in our mouths. The oysters were perfectly shelled and delicious. The meatballs are the best I've had, period. We can't wait to go back.

Such a wonderful dinner at Encore by Goodfellas last night. This has become the restaurant I bring family and friends & perspective clients to. It is also my ideal date place. If you want to impress anyone or just have an amazing dinner, bring them to the best restaurant in Connecticut -- Encore by Goodfellas. I always request Kenny or Sloane to take care of us, because they go out bof their way to make you feel welcome (though to be honest every server and bartender at Encore does that), but can never go wrong requesting Kenny or Sloane. Sometimes, I arrive before my guests just to spend a few moments at the gorgeous bar and see Frankie or Vinnie. Make sure you ask for them. Encore is like a timeless Supper Club where, if they are not swamped with running the restaurant, the beautiful Andrea or incomparable Chef Gennaro may stop by your table to make you feel like a movie star. Right now, everyone in New Haven (East, West, or North) are talking about Encore's 4-Course Winter Pre-Fixe Menu for 40.00. Believe me, you will the love the size of the portions. On our last few trips, my cousins have loved the Pre-Fixe Menu, but I love the NY Steak and Bolognese so much, I have to order of the regular menu as well. Though, the Filet or the Lasagna and Meatballs on the Pre-Fixe Menu are two of my favorites. I always start with the Calmari and Caprese for the table (which you can also get on the Pre-Fixe Menu) because I'm an Italian like that. Eating on the second floor is like being transported to the Copa back in it's heyday. If you are looking to impress, hit the second floor. I fluctuate between the cinematic scene of the second floor and the intimacy of the first floor. No matter which floor you choose, you will have one of the best dinners of your life and your guests will forever say, you knew just where to take them. Thank you, Encore!
I have no complaints. We were seated promptly and our waiter came right over to greet us. He was attentive the entire time. The music was such a nice touch, not intrusive at all. As a party of five, we were able to enjoy conversations with that a just background.

I was disappointed last night.And we were just here A few weeks ago and it was great.This time Food was cold.My meatballs on my meatball salad were cooked but cold.my filet was rare instead of medium. ColdMy apple crisp was cold.Our basket of bread was warmer than my meal.Taking a break ?

Absolutely love it here! The waiter was wonderful, we weren't rushed, the piano music was excellent, and the food, as always, was outstanding. Loved seeing the prix fixe menu back! Also love the new decor! Super comfortable chairs!

Wonderful dining experience. Elegant ambiance, extensive Winter prefix menu, very attentive but unobtrusive service, great entertainment(pianist singing an assortment of great hits) and great value. You don't want to miss the chance to enjoy a very special night out.
