We went for Valentine's Dinner, our first time here for all of us. The drinks were spot on, the food was flavorful and plenty, and the desserts heaven (singing in my head 😉). The restaurant gave long stem roses to all the women, which was very sweet. Will return. So much fun!

Just left there. Was very busy took a while for our waiter to come to our table and then it just got increasingly more terrible from there. It took over half an hour for orders to be taken. And then over an hour for our meals to arrive. My husbands arrived first and it was fine, but we kept waiting for mine. The meal that finally came (over 20 mins after his) was not the meal I ordered. And I had to send it back with another waiter. It took about 20 minutes for the correct order to come out- And the food was not even that good -maybe they had to rush it. I tried to order another glass of wine-took forever...The glass came with all kinds of Particles at the bottom of it. I had to walk up to the bar to have it looked at. The waiter tried to argue with me that was just normal sediment. I had never seen something like that and I even make my own wine and haven't seen something like that. I think it was a dirty glass. Anyway, they open a fresh bottle and gave me a new glass. We waited over 15 minutes until I finally asked another waitress if she could find my waiter give me a check. When the waiter came over, I asked him if I could have my wine to go. He said no, but I knew that the law was that I could bring it home. So he and I went back-and-forth once again. I had to ask for a box for my food. It was not offered. The only only thing they comped for us was one glass of wine. We were there for over 2 1/2 hours. Absolutely ridiculous and we will not be back. This is the worst dining experience I have had in my recent memory.

I had the pleasure of dining at Il Gabbiano last night, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a perfect balance of elegance and comfort.
The service was outstanding—our server was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations. Now, onto the food—absolutely delicious! Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The Shrimp Rissotto was a standout, cooked to perfection with the perfect blend of seasonings.
The attention to detail, both in the food and the overall experience, truly sets this place apart. Whether you’re looking for a special night out or just a great meal, I highly recommend, and can’t wait to return!

If you’re in the New Haven area, you need to put Il Gabbiano on your list of dinner spots. WOW! Wonderful staff & ambience - you really can’t beat the view!! The food was served quick, with big portions and seasoned to perfection. The drinks were amazing as well, big shoutout to the bartenders - they were super helpful with their recommendations. Couldn’t have asked for a better meal and we will DEFINITELY be back soon!
The setting, food and service was absolutely amazing. The service was nice and responsive. I felt very welcoming being there. The quantity of food was draw dropped aswell.
