On arrival all was set up for our table of 7. Waiter explained the set up and all went off for our food.
We went for the Sunday brunch and ordered a la carte. We should have taken the buffet. It looked amazing! Next time.
John Davenport restaurant is a great spot for a quiet dinner and drinks. The view of New Haven is spectacular. I highly recommend the Jungle bird cocktail at Bar 19. The strip steak and fries were very good. It's a little expensive and the dinner menu is small, but the ambiance is worth it. Service was excellent.
This restaurant that is located on the 19th floor of the Omni is absolutely lovely. I was staying in the hotel and since I became a member I was given a free voucher for either a drink at the bar or coffee from the cafe in the lobby. I opted for a glass of wine...hehe. Major shout out to Olson the bartender who was not only welcoming and super nice, but very professional as well.
Since I was impressed by the atmosphere and the beautiful view of the city I came back for breakfast. Reyna was my server and she was so sweet...so sweet that she remembered my name the next day when I came back. That alone can make a guest feel recognized and appreciated. Many kudos to her.
The food here is really good. I ordered from the menu as opposed to getting from the buffet at $32 a person. My first day I got the three egg omelette and the second day the pancakes with berries. Both items are reasonable priced and you get a good amount of food. They also give you coffee to go when you finish your meal. When you get the bill you can either pay by cash, card or bill it to your room.
I definitely recommend checking this place out whether you are a guest or just looking for a nice quiet place to have a meal. I look forward to dining here again the next time I stay at the Omni.

Food was excellent and our waiter was very attentive and friendly well maintaining a high level of class. We got the linguini and clams as well as the lamb (which was the special that night) and we cleaned our plates. Everything was delicious. Got a proper martini (highly appreciated) and amazing views of the buildings in New Haven. Really wish I remembered our waiters name because he deserved a shout out. He is what a fine dining waiter should strive to be. Even brought us dessert for our “special event”. Thanks buddy, we appreciate you!!
6:15 pm dinner on a Saturday. We had tables to choose from at that time, We loved the view! People were dressed casually and others were dressed up. The only loud noise came from the banquet room, but it was over in 5-10 minutes. My daughter did not like the pizza, but we loved the truffle fries and my chicken ceasar salad! Our server was very nice. I do think everyone should come here at least once for the view.
I don't know how anyone could recommend this place other than the view. The food is just passable, and the seating is limited.
Very strange. No hostess. No signage. Just felt like tables placed by the window. They just had a pre fix menu. I should have been informed as this reservation had been in place for a long time. It was good but certainly didn't feel special.
Ate here for Mother's Day. Let me preface my review by saying it was buffet style, not the normal menu. It was $70 a head and I felt the buffet was strongly overvalued. The food was good but just good. It was not a true brunch as it lacked a significant quantity of breakfast food. The place is lovely, the view is lovely and the staff were courteous.
I had breakfast it was delicious plus they give you a full carafe of coffee it was much less expensive then I thought it would be an amazing view very nice attentive waitress I highly recomend

Absolutely loved it! The staff was very pleasant, and the chef's work magic in the kitchen. I can't wait to come back...
The most overpriced breakfast ever! After explaining to us that the buffet was the best value on the menu we walked up to empty and cold buffet. We were a party of seven and there wasn’t enough edible food to feed two people. When we complained about the food the manager got defensive instead of helpful.

The salmon was fantastic, and the bass practically melted in the mouth. Exceptional preparation!
Had the Valentine's Day experience, the starters were a bit mediocre. For entree I had the surf n turf, the filet was the star of the dish for sure. The lobster tail was overcooked, and a bit salty for my liking. Finally the dessert, which was excellent. Service was good though
Came here for New Year's Eve with my boyfriend. The menu was prixe fixed at 90 pp. The food was okay. Some of it had too much going on in it. Overall great service and nice ambiance and romantic atmosphere with a nice view as it is on the 19th floor of the hotel. Would come back and try it on a non-holiday day. Or for lunch maybe. Nice looking bar also.
