The salmon was fantastic, and the bass practically melted in the mouth. Exceptional preparation!

Had the Valentine's Day experience, the starters were a bit mediocre. For entree I had the surf n turf, the filet was the star of the dish for sure. The lobster tail was overcooked, and a bit salty for my liking. Finally the dessert, which was excellent. Service was good though

Came here for New Year's Eve with my boyfriend. The menu was prixe fixed at 90 pp. The food was okay. Some of it had too much going on in it. Overall great service and nice ambiance and romantic atmosphere with a nice view as it is on the 19th floor of the hotel. Would come back and try it on a non-holiday day. Or for lunch maybe. Nice looking bar also.

Went for NYE and was not aware there would be a set menu. Options were decent but $90 and not have advertisement on the website is frustrating. Additionally, 2 of the cocktails on the cocktail menu were “out of stock” and the other drinks were brought to the table before the waiter told us two couldn't be made. We ordered 2 bottles of wine to enjoy with the entree. The food came about 5 min after ordering the bottles. We waited almost 10 min before the waiter came to tell us the manager had to go to the basement of the hotel to get the wine bottles. Another 5-10 min later the manager comes up and tells us that wine selection is ALSO out of stock.. then offered another bottle which took another 10 min to go get and uncork. We all finished our meals before the wine finally arrived. Food was very good but temperature of the steak that was meant to be rare did not come out rare. Then we tried to split the bill and turns out we were all charged different amounts and overcharged. Would not return.

Great view and good location right downtown. Service wasn't great and place was almost completely empty for breakfast.

Too dark. Excellent, attentive service. Why do you wish to require a longer commentary than the writer wishes to submit!

There was almost no one present in my meal came out cold. I sent it back and they heated it up but it led to the prime rib being overcooked. It was pretty disappointed by the quality of the food.

The food and service was outstanding! The bartender is by far the best part of our experience

Wonderful evening, great service, and fabulous atmosphere! We were there to celebrate my sons white coat ceremony and I chose the spot after reading some recommendations. John Davenport's did not disappoint. Fabulous appetizers and the service was impeccable! We had the fried calamari/shrimp and fish taco appetizers. Both were outstanding.  For dinner, we had short ribs and goat cheese salad with grilled shrimp. Both were fantastic. Highly recommend and I will definitely return.

I had the salmon and my other diners had the lobster mac & cheese & the beef tips. All were delicious! Perfectly cooked, ample portions and great sides. Elegant interior and gorgeous views- Highly recommend!

Can't say enough nice things about this restaurant. The food is excellent. It is prepared perfectly. The service is the best. The staff are all friendly as well as efficient and helpful. And the view! We enjoy looking at New Haven Center, never realized how lovely it is. We come here on special occasions. Our only negative comment is not regarding the restaurant. It is the parking garage, ugly & unclean.

Birthday dinner tonight for my son. Party of four. 6:30 pm Sunday night. Not busy. Grandma came 92 years old. I waited 25 min for a drink. It arrived in a sweaty glass which means it sat at the “ fairly empty bar” I passed on my way to the ladies room. No Salmon, no Fettuccini, no Alfredo, questionable about frying the fish tacos. I mean it’s like using the same kind of thing for fries. Two entrees were warm not hot. Service was SLOW!! No spoons for coffee, no sugar in the little container for coffee just equal and Splenda, I had to get up and go find some sugar packets from another container.i mentioned quietly to the host my displeasure regarding the length of time it took to get the drink and hoped the manager would take care of that. He or she did not. I told the host about having to get up again to go get sugar and she replied “ we would hand gotten it for you “ no, it’s the hosts job in my business to make sure those things are done PRIOR to a guest entering an establishment. Thanks for the tasty food but the timing was off, the kitchen needs better communication, looks bad for your servers when half the tables meal is warm and half is hot? Where was it? Under the lights? Or sitting on the line? Nice view , thanks for singing it’s a manager/ kitchen host issue

Aeden, Kristin, Will, and the whole team made me and my wife’s anniversary experience a wonderful one!

We headed over early and grabbed drinks at the bar. Where we enjoyed some solid cocktails and first class views of the water. We learned they have a happy hour from 4-7pm Monday-Thursday that we plan to come back for.

After drinks we were met with top notch service from Aeden and a surprise complementary champagne drink. All the food we ate was delicious and portions were extremely generous. We brought our own wine and paid a $20 corkage fee.

Would recommend this spot for both a special occasion and a solid happy hour. We plan to visit again!

Wonderful views of New Haven. Staff very nice and courteous. Dining room very nicely set up. Food was a disappointment, selection is minimal. Ordered the salmon which was undercooked- server did offer to have it re-done but it had already left a bad taste in my mouth, so I declined. Overall if they improve their menu selection it will be a great place to have a nice dinner for a special occasion.

Level place!
I went in 10 minutes before the kitchen closed
And I received professional and extremely kind service from a waiter who made sure to immediately enter my order into the system,
The dishes arrived quickly and today are incredibly tasty,
The prices are affordable and the atmosphere is family
* I got a free salad, because they decided to spoil me :)
Highly recommend!
