I just want to say the staff there is amazing. The guy with the glasses and I think he may have braids was excellent he smiled and was very respectful and understanding about my preference They didn’t have what I ordered but he recommended something different but similar and it was amazing. Keep up the good work Junzi staff. The best photo I could get my apologies don’t want to seem creepy with the picture these are the staff that was here.

Small but cute restaurant. They offer both Build Your Own and menu items which is nice. I got the A1 Tomato Egg with Pork Noodles which was flavorful. It was a bit sauce-heavy but the knife noodle texture was quite nice.

Kind people and warm owner. Loved the cozy yet contemporary interior. The food did not taste great, the chef/preparer burned the ingredients quite substantially. It might have been a fluke, I will try again sometime soon.
I ordered for delivery and it was quick! I had the Shanghai scallion noodles with griddled tofu and it was exactly what I was craving for - right portion, not oily or salty, tastes good. I will definitely order

1/1 Ambience; 1.5/2 Food; 1/1 Service; 0.5/1 Value I frequented Junzi Kitchen a lot during my undergraduate years at Columbia when they first opened, so the brand is near and dear to my heart. I loved the fast-casual concept of tailored Chinese cuisine on late nights. The staff is very quick but helpful and patient if it is your first time or if you just need a moment to figure out amongst the many options, and the store was maintained beautifully. My friend got the braised beef bowl while I got a custom bowl with furu sesame knife noodles and firecracker chicken. The furu sesame has been my long time favorite for ages, and it didn't disappoint this time either. We both thought the food tasted fresh and delicious. However, the nearly $14 pre-tax cost is rather steep for the smaller portion sizes, especially since the veggie add-ins and garnishes are now capped since their initial opening.

I picked up 2 orders for delivery here today, and when I asked to use the bathroom I was told "no, we only let customers use the bathroom." Like I was some dude who just walked in off the street. I've been delivering food in New Haven (on a bike!) for over 5 years and this is the first restaurant that refused to lt me pee! Maybe the food is good but I'll never know because of the jerk that works there.

Ordered the tomato egg noodles with pork and scallion noodles with lion’s head meatballs. Both were delicious. Service was friendly and our food was made quickly. Will definitely return, especially for the scallion noodles with lion’s head meatballs! Overall felt very welcome and enjoyed the food. The only downside was their air conditioning was not working at the time so we were a bit warm while eating our food there. I believe the AC is a temporary issue though, at least I hope it is.
