I used to work here, and since I've worked in different places. I can attest that they put the most effort into the dining experience than many of the other places I've worked and dined. 5 stars. 100% would recommend this place. Always a great time!

Kid-friendliness: Excellent environment for kids. Very accommodating

Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp up towards the door.

The food was mediocre and took about two hours to be delivered to downtown New Haven. The non-kosher keepers who ordered with me (kosher keeper) were quite disappointed, a shame it turned out like that.

Did you know Ladle and Loaf also does catering under the name The Gusto Kitchen? The Gusto Kitchen catered my daughter's bat mitzvah. The food was amazing, the service was flawless, and they were really such a pleasure to work with! I highly recommend them, and I'll be using them again!!

Disappointing, especially after reading reviews here.

Came for lunch right at opening, and the server didn’t arrive until 20 minutes after opening. Chef apologized, but we didn’t have water. The bathroom hadn’t been cleaned from previous day.

Food was also average. The southern fried chicken sandwich had a thin breading that fell right. The sauce tasted like BBQ sauce off the shelf.

Fries were good, but that was about it.

We were the only ones in there, too. Ambience felt cold and bland.

Would not return nor recommend.

Stopped in for soup after my husband's surgery looking for something gentle on the tummy and not spicy. Found a roasted butternut squash bisque that hit the spot. Liked the interior sink. When I came in, noticed they were washing the floor in the kitchen. Although I don't usually seek kosher, I did like the soup and I would come back to try something else here. We liked the soup so much we took another soup home for the kids.

The truffle burger was absolutely delicious, really amazed by the taste! Each bite was a perfect blend of rich truffle oil and juicy beef, complemented by the creamy aioli and fresh arugula. The toasted brioche bun added the ideal crunch, making it a heavenly experience. I couldn't help but savor every moment, and the side of crispy fries only enhanced the meal. It was a culinary delight that I would gladly indulge in again.
