Lalibela was my introduction to Ethiopian food. The Vegetarian Combo Sampler is where it’s at. I’ve also ordered most of their veg entrees by themselves & I cannot recommend them highly enough.
This review is for the Brick + Mortar restaurant, not the food truck that sometimes parks on an Orange between Wall and Elm- ordered the lunch version of the veg combo & was way lackluster- almost like the truck & the restaurant were unrelated.

This is truly the best restaurant in New Haven. The food is absolutely delicious, and the owners are simply wonderful people. They graciously helped us host a birthday celebration with over 60 Yale students, and everything turned out festive, joyful, and filled with amazing food. Thank you so much for making the celebration unforgettable.

When I go to Newhaven, Lalibela is my first choice. Best food with a lot of choices for vegetarians and non vegetarian people with best service. I love it!

This is arguably the best African Restaurant in New Haven:)
It's my first time trying Ethiopian cuisine and it was a pleasant experience. If you haven't tried it before, give it a try. You use your hands to eat, and Lalibela offers an authentic experience. I'm pretty sure it's vegan and vegetarian friendly too.

Amazing food, I had the Non-Vegetarian Platter with Doro Wot, Misir Alicha, Shuro and Kosta with Gluten Free Injera. The ambience is very relaxing. The person serving-Binyam was so kind.
