One of the best foods I have ever tasted the guy literally makes everything in house every morning. Everything is so fresh and tasty. Thank you very much. Will recommend and will be back especially if one is from New York.

There are two categories of falafel: falafel that you settle for, which is what the majority of falafel places fall into.

Then there is the falafel that you saver and and yearn for. Lea's is that place. The magic starts with everything being made to order and continues with the homemade creations of pickled cabbage, vegetables, sauerkraut, eggplant, pickled mango sauce - the list goes on.

I asked for falafel made the way he would eat it himself. WOW.
BEST EVER.

I have eaten falafel in alleyways of Greenwich village at 3:00 in the morning and at food bazaars around the world.
This is the best there is. Period.

Make the trip to order through the small window then sit at the little tables on the streets of New Haven and enjoy.

Lea’s Falafelhaus is a standout. I ordered the kebab pita and it was perfect, juicy grilled meat tucked into pillowy warm bread with crisp vegetables and a smooth tahini finish. Everything tasted garden-fresh and perfectly seasoned. New Haven has plenty of eats, but this place shoots straight to the must-visit list, full stop. I will be back soon and bringing everyone I know.

Leas is the real deal. The falafel was excellent. The owner makes all the food which is fresh flavorful delicious. Authentic. No need to go anywhere else. New Haven is lucky to have Leas. If I didn’t live 2 hours away I would be eating there all the time!!! Thank you. Always a treat to gave great tasting falafel. Ignore the poor reviews. We’re living in a hateful world filled with cockroaches. This food is 5 stars.

Iddo’s food is amazing and he’s a fun person to talk to. I’m in New Haven for the week and was looking for Israeli food. It is hard to find Israeli shawarma in Connecticut. Not only does Iddo have falafel and shawarma, he has Israeli-specific dishes like sabich and schnitzel, which you will not find at an Arab or Turkish restaurant.

He makes everything from scratch and the quality is apparent. It’s also nice to be able to speak Hebrew, as there are very few gathering places for Israelis, or at least as a visitor, I do not know them. It made me happy to be able to speak Hebrew with Iddo and feel at home.

Another world class New Haven gem! The falafel is a dream. Fresh ingredients prepared with pride, care, and creativity. Just a sidewalk window with some tables in front. Don't miss it! I shall return.

As a regular Edge of the Woods shopper, I've been aware of Lea's for a while. Finally got to stop by today. The falafel itself was excellent: savory, herby, nutty, crispy on the outside and tender within. The pita was also tasty. I ordered online and was stoked to be able to pick my topings (red coleslaw, pickles, carmelized onions, and olives). As he wasn't sure which I wanted, the owner, Eddie, threw in both tahini and hot sauce. Like the best street food, it ate like a meal. Hands down the best falafel I've had since moving from NYC in 2017; I'll definitely be back.

Y’all really call this falafel ? Go to Astoria and you’ll know what real falafels are. Y’all need to stick with your own culture foods like pierogis

I never write bad reviews, but I got food poisoning 7 hours after eating there early last week. The owner is super defensive. I've literally never been that sick in my life and I'm still not fully well. I recommend avoiding this place.
