Libby's Italian Pastry Shop

It just takes one cashier to be rude to a good person for multiple people to have an issue with a store. Thank the girls working the counter Friday march 14 around 10:00 pm. Horrible business.

My girlfriend and my roommate went here. On Friday March 14th around 10:30 pm. My girlfriend in an excited tone said to my roommate “omg you have never been to Libby’s” in an excited tone. The two girls working the counter mocked her voice and mocked her excited tone repeating what she said making fun of her. They then stated that they should play the song “closing time” to urge customers to leave the store. No reason to be mean to people like this. I am going to be very loud about my experience here. Yall are about to be so sick of me lol. Yall just pick on people you view as weak or that are unlikely to retaliate. COWARDS.

Decent Italian style bakery where they always have unusual cannoli flavors.

Bakery is very busy on little stretch where you can find /eat famous pizza and pasta. Place was crowded and busy, has seating area in front, I expected more of the treats however enjoyed visiting the place !

Holy cannoli! While waiting for my pizza at Sally's, I wandered down to Libby's for my first cannoli of a nearly month long road trip. I have had plenty in my day and I even make my own for the holidays. The 3 cannoli I bought at Libby's were exceptionally good. Chocolate dipped, pistachio, and peanut butter. Parking can be rough. I parked in a building several blocks away for a fee. The cannoli are absolutely worth it though and look out for many other treats sold there. I had a long walk and no backpack so I left with my 3. Highly recommended.

The desserts and ice creams are very good, the bad thing is the service (I had to clean my table, the tables remain dirty, today 25 minutes ago some customers left and the table is still dirty, the girls talk a lot with a very high tone of voice and they don't have the delicacy to clean the service tables)

Thought since it’s been around for such a long time that the pastries have gonna be terrific, I was wrong. I bought a pound of the pignole nut cookies and they were so sweet I had to throw them out, the biscotti’s were stale and the New York cheesecake tasted nothing like a New York cheesecake.

Libby’s Italian Bakery is a delightful hidden gem. While finding parking in the area was a bit of a challenge, it was definitely worth the effort once we arrived. The bakery itself is impeccably clean and beautifully presented, giving off a warm, welcoming atmosphere as soon as you step through the door.

The customer service was top-notch—friendly and attentive staff made us feel right at home. The bakery was full of delicious aromas, which only added to the inviting vibe. As for the desserts, every single one we tried was delicious, but the standout was undoubtedly the original cannolis. They were absolutely fantastic—crispy shells filled with a perfect balance of creamy sweetness.

All in all, Libby’s Italian Bakery offers a wonderful experience, from the ambiance to the dessert quality. Parking can be tricky, but it’s definitely worth the visit! I’d highly recommend it for anyone with a sweet tooth looking to indulge in some top-tier Italian pastries.

Got a cannoli. It tasted like a wet toilet paper roll. Soggy and flaccid. No doubt due to the cannoli being piped and left to sit all day instead of fresh piped cannolis. $4.50 cannoli and doesn't even take apple pay.

Was told to try one of the oldest Italian pastry shop in New Haven. The cannoli was okay. It took the employee a couple seconds to answer. A simple question, is the shell fried in house or do they get it imported. He claims that they're made in-house. They were pretty good. The only thing that was a turn off is they had a nice state-of-the-art coffee espresso machine and they used a traditional Nespresso machine like to make my espresso with the pods. I'm the type of guy that drinks my espresso no sugar and the espresso is horrible

We stop here for treats ever so often when we have time. They have a wide variety of pastries as well as a large variety of cannoli flavors. They sell coffee and lattes which I've never had yet. But we have had the Italian ice and Gelato on a hot day. Everything is pretty decent I would say. Can't really complain.

The cannoli’s and cookies were good but the service was terrible. There were 4 people behind the counter that didn’t acknowledge us or others in the shop and kept talking to each other while taking orders. I guess the good thing is they showed up for work but they definitely need to work on how they treat customers.

Bought cheese cake and chocolate dipped eclairs. Had asked if the filling was custard or cream. I mentioned (my mistake) that I did not care for custard. Was told the filling was more like cream. It's custard, totally.

For me, the NY cheesecake was dense and not very flavorful. Husband got blueberry, said his had good flavor. He wasn't keen on the texture, but that was his opinion.

The folks working there were nice & the shop was easy to find. They had a wide variety of other items, including espresso, which we were hoping to try next time. ??‍♀️
