I've been going here since a was a child in the 70's. I like the remodel but miss the original interior. Best Italian Ice and pastry around.

We were in town from NY with our 3 year old, we got a pizza and $25 worth of pastries from the shop. We sat at the tables out front and started to eat some pizza from a restaurant next door and then we were going to eat our pastries. A girl from the counter came out stated we couldn’t eat pizza at the tables because “health dept codes”. Must be health dept only allows you to eat pastries at those tables. It’s probably a good thing we didn’t eat the pastries right there, the health dept may have witnessed the disappointment on our faces. Post a sign forbidding pizza eating at those tables, if I could suggest for future tourists.

Mmmmmmm so good reminds me of my childhood with Nona And Zia💕🇮🇹 so delicious the staff was friendly and the prices were great. Thank you for your authenticity

Staff were extremely rude while we were checking out. Also afterwards while we were eating our food from this location and a slice of pizza from next door, staff opened the front door and yelled at us. Very unprofessional and poor service given we had just purchased multiple items from location.

Terrible Experience ! Would Never Return

I rarely leave reviews, but my experience here was unacceptable. I ordered cannolis and found hair in them — completely unsanitary and inexcusable. Even worse, the atmosphere was extremely uncomfortable. One of the staff members, possibly the owner, an older Italian man, was yelling at a couple of customers so aggressively ( he had a hysteric breakdown) that it upset everyone around, including my baby, who started crying from the commotion.

Between the poor hygiene and the hostile environment, I can confidently say I will never step foot in this place again.

Rum baba was a huge sugar overloaded artificially colored disappointment. Not a hint of rum, pastry was not good either.

The desserts were completely stale. Nothing fresh. Very disappointing

Pastries were on par with what I was expecting. Their Italian ice is always flavorful and refreshing. But the young Italian looking girl working the counter had an unpleasant attitude and their remodel as far as I am concerned disgraced a New Haven landmark. That place used to have so much character it embodied the neighborhood. It lost all its character in the remodel so I suggest they button up on their customer service and pastry quality because the nostalgia is dead

Amazing desserts! The peanut butter cheesecake was spectacular and so was the Nutella cannoli!

I’ve been here a good amount of time I catch them when there busy so I don’t expect much interaction but I went tonight before closing it was empty she sat there on her phone did not greet the customer I said hi Justin case she didn’t see me she didn’t say anything so I said hello she got up with An attitude and semi rushed my order which was rude because I could have gave her attitude first but I would appreciate the same respect give.

It just takes one cashier to be rude to a good person for multiple people to have an issue with a store. Thank the girls working the counter Friday march 14 around 10:00 pm. Horrible business.
