This place has a great atmosphere/decor. I ordered a cold brew and a ham and cheese quiche, which was very good. Easy parking in the shops at yale lot across the street. The staff did not make me feel unwelcome for sitting at a table, which I find sometimes happens at places like this in NH when you don't order a full meal.
Lovely spot on Yale’s Broadway. Wish there were other similar light meal places around. The staff were super nice and know their patrons well.
Delicious coffee! Other food looks very inviting. Bright open space - you don't feel rushed.

The coffee came cold and I wanted to change it with a hot coffee. They replied that it was cold because milk was added to it. The employees are really disrespectful and customer satisfaction is zero.

I tried calling ~10 minutes before they closed so we could get a couple drinks to go. They didn’t answer, then when we arrived (5:55) they said they couldn’t serve us because they already closed down their drink service. What’s the point of closing at 6:00 when your staff chooses to close before then?

Honestly probably the worst coffee I have had not only in Nee Haven, but all of the US. Please do not water down the brewed offerings, it will not gall you retain customers. I do know the cafe is busy but small things=big things eventually

Atmosphere is great. Food is terrible, they don’t even put salt or pepper or any basic seasoning on any of the food. Coffee tastes below average. The worst part is the service. I have never seen them clean tables after people leave, even during peak hours. If it were not for their location, this place would not be worth visiting.

Lady at counter could not have been more unwelcoming and rude. Maybe she just has issues with LGBT families.

The place was clean and bright, like a freshly laundered shirt. Sunlight streamed through the windows, casting warm shadows on the polished wood tables. The aroma of coffee and baking pastries hung in the air, a sweet perfume that made the mouth water.
I ordered a waffle and watched the cook prepare it with practiced hands. The batter sizzled on the iron, filling the air with a rich, warm scent. When it arrived, golden and crisp, I hesitated. It was a thing of beauty, but I knew the toll such indulgences could take.
The first bite was a revelation of sweetness and texture. The crisp exterior gave way to a tender inside, a perfect balance. But with each forkful, I couldn't help but think of the refined flour and sugar, silent assassins coursing through the bloodstream.
I sipped my coffee, strong and black, a small comfort. Around me, patrons laughed and ate, oblivious to the subtle danger on their plates. The café was a haven of pleasure, but one that came at a price not measured in dollars alone.
As I finished, I felt the familiar guilt. The meal had been exquisite, a triumph of skill and tradition. But in a world where diabetes lurks like a predator, even such simple joys carry risk. I left with a full stomach and a heavy heart, knowing that balance, like happiness, is often elusive.

This is my first ever review. English is not my first language so I wrote down my order asking for a couple of modifications due to dietary limitations. The order came wrong we asked for “No Mayo”i pointed out to the waitress that it had mayo in it, she was so rude and said that in the note I provided, she didnt know what “No Maio” was, and if i wanted something different i would have to put in a new order and pay for it.
I cant believe that a place like this would like to be represented by this waitress with such xenophobic/rude attitude. As a foreigner visiting the city, i didnt feel welcome and wouldnt recommend to others who do not share the values this waitress conveyed.

Crowded cafe due to limited options in the area. Waited almost 45 minutes for an ordinary cheese omelet. Staff had an attitude. Go elsewhere if you can.

I don't usually review places, but given the relatively low rating compared to other places in new haven, I feel it deserves better. Today I spent $22 (including tip) for two large belgian hot chocolates, a salted chocolate chip cookie, and a large cold brew coffee. Compared to other prices in the area, this is only slightly above average (though the "grand" size is more like an American "medium"). The cookie was honestly the best I've had since moving to the east coast. It was chewy, dark, and just the right amount of salt. I prefer these thin ones over some other places that serve a mound of bland dryness. The hot chocolates were excellent. Even though we took them to go, one employee took the time to do some latte art on it! Some reviews claim they take no pride in their craft, but I have to disagree. Yes, during a lunch rush, it may be superfluous, but it seemed like everything was getting done in a timely fashion. The cold brew was a little bitter for my taste, especially since it's a cold brew, but I know some people prefer it. If they insist on acidic arabica or light-medium roasted beans, then it would be an easy fix to use a smoother mineral water instead of tap, but then again, prices would go up. New haven tap water is a far cry from anything you'd find in most European cities as far as taste goes.
