Ordered a cake last minute for a birthday party. The staff was so helpful and made sure the cake was ready when it was needed. Everyone at the party was raving about the cake; the taste and presentation were divine. Would definitely order another cake from here again.

One of the best bakeries in New Haven. Their cakes are made in heaven. Call ahead, usually they do not have much on shelf/racks. Some cakes need order be placed 24 hours ahead.

We worked with this bakery a few times for our company holiday party and we were so impressed. Our employees loved the cakes and pastries. Especially the chocolate yule log cake. If you love chocolate, this cake is spectacular!!!! We over purchased because the selection was so delicious; so we bought to go boxes and left them on the desert table so people could take goodies home. This bakery is a must try. We are asking them to cater our 2023 holiday party again this year. Can't wait.

I've been getting cakes for special occasions from Marjolaine for the past few years. This place is well-known in the area and worth a visit. The Marjolaine is the cake I've ordered the most. After ordering in advance, they give you a reference number for when you pick up your cake. A half Marjolaine cake is still pretty huge. The box takes up a whole shelf in my fridge. You need to keep the cake frozen until you eat it or it will lose its crunchy texture. Once thawed, it's rich and creamy, apart from the crispy crunch and the nougat. There's a lot going on in a Marjolaine cake. You'll have to try one for yourself, and they make them well here. Prepare to spend a little time picking up your order. It's busy and there's usually a line. The ambience is quaint and the bakery is creatively decorated. During holiday season, there are usually tables set up where breads and cookies are displayed. Today, along with picking up my cake, I took home a box of assorted cupcakes, the favorite of which was tres leches. Red velvet and carrot cake ranked high on the list as well. Stop in here some time and try one of their delectable desserts. Conveniently located on State Street in New Haven, this bakery will perk up your day.

We've only been here a few times, mostly on the occasion of picking up last-minute birthday cakes, but every single time we get a winner. It was my sister-in-laws birthday last week, and we'd procrastinated finding her a cake. She's 12 and we figured at worst, we'll go grab something at Stop and Shop. We decided to stop by Marjolaine's and at first, we were a little disappointed that there was only one cake in the display. Unassuming, white frosting with little flowers, cute but simple. We figured we'd give it a shot, and we were so glad we did. It was custard-filled and my husband could not stop talking about how delicious it was! This isn't the first time we've needed an "emergency" cake from here and it won't be the last, they're always on point.

Delicious pastry shop with lots of different options! We tried the chocolate chip cookie, chocolate cupcakes and chocolate peanut butter pastry... all were great! There is seating inside and outside which is nice

Finally made it to Marjolaine Pastry shop in Fairhaven. I always plan to go but then get distracted by Lucibello or Libby’s in New Haven. Glad I finally stopped. Only got 2 pastries and a double espresso but I will certainly be returning.

As a New Haven veteran, it pains me to see the decline of once famous pastry shop. I was quite hopeful that the shop would continue to be the best place in town for pastry and cakes when Rusty sold his business sometime after great recession. Alas, the place went down along with its quality and service. Whenever you go, you see a display of low quality pastries haphazardly made. Looks quite unsightly if you compare it with how well the place looked when Rusty was at helm. The saddest part in my mind is that the current owner is not even capable of realizing it . I wish the current owner the best. But the Marjoaine that we knew is history.
