driest chicken quesadilla i ever had and it costed $18.. id be less mad if it was 18 dollar quality but it was miserable. go to long wharf or fair haven for a more accurate experience both taste wise and price wise.

The food and drinks here are amazing! Sadly we moved away from New Haven and can’t go here anymore. I still crave their Juan de gallos drinks, tostadas de tinga de pollo, mole, shrimp enchiladas, etc. everything is delicious!

I live in Oaxaca, what an authentic experience this restaurant was. It was absolutely delicious and everything was clearly made fresh. The space is beautiful, lots of decor that I see in my day to day.

We went to this place to get to know East Rock but it is not my idea of a good value Mexican Restaurant. The chips are hard and thick and the Green Salsa is so hot It’s impossible to use and they don’t have a regular salsa available. The margaritas are good sized for the price, the guacamole was very good. Difficult to order vegetarian here without paying $25. The food trucks on Long Shore are so much better for a Vegetarian Burrito or Tostada.wish they had some kind tables for dining

This place is for people who enjoy real authentic Mexican food. Not the type of food you’d get at a “Mexican” chain restaurant. I’ve been coming here for years and have not once had to complain to the staff. The quality and consistency of their dishes are amazing. The people who are giving low reviews must not be used to authentic Mexican. Do yourself a favor and GO HERE! The prices are wonderful for the quality of food! 10/10

I’d recommend the chicken enchiladas with salsa roja and the steak burrito! You can also get cheese enchiladas which is not listed on the menu :)

When we got there we had an issue letting the server know I had an allergy since his english was almost non-existant. We ordered an app but had to call him over later to place dinner orders, so not very attentive. Plus both servers sat on phones unless called upon. I ordered a bloody Mary and it was so spicy I could not finish it. I am pretty sure they made it with chipotle pepper and put chili spice on the rim. That is not a bloody mary! The food was fair but a little over priced for what you get. As for atmosphere, the building could use some updating. The ceiling has major water damage and cracking, no lighting, and over crowded with tables to where you can't move in between them.

4. Can’t really comment on the food as we only went for drinks but it looked great. The drinks were really good! The vibe is okay, but it’s not a modern spot- super old school and authentic. Great for families and kids- we saw lots of them. Outdoor seating on the sidewalk - not cordoned off.
Service was really slow but super friendly!!!! They didn’t really come back to see if we wanted more drinks and we had to go in to get the bill but it was a VERY chill vibe.

Kid-friendliness: Lots of kids there and family friendly! Great food options for kids too!!

Worst Mexican food I’ve had in a long time. Obviously with inflation you expect everything to be expensive these days but even with that in consideration the food was way over priced especially given the quality. My fiance and I didn’t order any cocktails- just some guacamole, a shrimp dish, and some steak fajitas and ended up spending $70. Literally every entree on the menu was $25, whether it was steak or a beef burrito. The guacamole (the most crucial staple of any Mexican restaurant) was bland and my fiance described the steak as “fuzzy.” Even the appearance of the food made you not want to eat it. Then we waited about 20 mins for the check. Would not recommend.
