During a visit to New Haven this past weekend, we took a stroll down Crown Street because the weather was so amazing.
We stopped into milk craft because I noticed that it was handcrafted ice cream. I can’t have ice cream., but they advertised a strawberry sorbet on their menu, which wasn’t immediate YES for me….
They ended up not having the sorbet, but they did have a pineapple sorbet which was really good -
The service was substandard, not warm and friendly at all,
but my sorbet ,my husband‘s ice cream and my son‘s ice cream were rich, fresh and enjoyable.
We sat at the teal colored barstool facing Crown Street and watch the passer byers & enjoyed our treats
The substandard Service was the worst part of the experience - especially when you spend $26 on ice cream for three people
Vegetarian options: Limited selection of vegan options - I had the pineapple sorbet ( only one option)
Parking: We parked just steps from the ice cream shop and paid 1.50 to park for an hour

Milkcraft has really gone downhill. Every time I go they are out of all the flavors and the ice cream we have had was grainy and/or icy. Out of all the ice cream in New Haven this place is very low on my list of places to try.

I went to New Haven and Fairfield And they DON’T do the nitrogen ice cream anymore.
Get ice cream at the grocery store is exactly the same.
They can said they make it with the same process , but since it’s stored, it just doesn’t taste the same.
IS FREEZER ICE CREAM

Everything about this business is not the same. Stepped into the New Haven location yesterday evening, there were 2 employees and all of the ice cream were premade in tubs. They used to market this place based on the fact that they would pour liquid cream base ice cream with liquid nitrogen and create an unforgettable experience right in-front of you. Before you know it your ice cream went from a liquid to a solid. Now you don’t get any of that! You walk into the New Haven location and immediately get depressed! I would work here just to get things back to the way they used to be because at this point they should just close this location. I don’t want to waste my time to drive to the original Fairfield location in case the same experience is ruined once again. Very disappointed. The speaker needs to be replaced it’s blown out and they used hurricane grade brackets to hold up the decor ceilings. We walked out and got nothing.

Went here twice on a visit to New Haven. The s’mores ice cream in a waffle cone was to die for and the strawberry balsamic was very good too.
Extremely disappointed today. I've been going here for years and never had a problem. I hope the management really looks into this, I went here today around 10:20 with my family and the girl who took our order was nice until the older lady came in and just kept complaining loud about how many customers are in the store, she was even giving the other girl a hard time as well. She kept giving us weird looks and just kept complaining and complaining to us and other customers. I just came in for a good time and just to have some ice cream, not for the drama and whinning. If you don't want to work then talk to your manager, this behavior is unacceptable. Their hours say that they close at 11, if the workers have a problem with this then they should either change the hours or stop taking orders, not blame customers and ruin their night. She even made rude comments to me while I was walking out. Ridiculous! Not going back again.

Would highly recommend this place! I had the 1/2 of red velvet and 1/2 of blue cookie, really good combination.
I would like to call it the blue on top of red

Decent variety, seems quality but it's never really frozen? It's more of very cold milkshake style. I question the cleanliness of the place the workers handle cash a food kind of messy all the time place seems grubby in the customer area. Guess it's good because it's literally the only place near it . But not spectacular. Just ok

I had the best experience at milkcraft today! The ladies were so sweet and kind to me and my friend. It was my friend and I's first time being here and the ladies were more than happy to explain everything to us! The ice cream was great and the music was a good vibe!! I feel so bad because there was no online tip option and the ladies really deserved it! It was also very hot in the building and it didn't feel like there was any air-conditioning on, so I hope the workers are able to stay cool especially in this hot summer weather! Overall it was a great experience and I will definitely be coming back!

Please believe them when they say that the employees here do not like their jobs. They are not welcoming at all. Great ice cream. Horrible staff.

Just all around bad, skip this location and go to the Fairfield or West Hartford one. The employees here don’t like their jobs and it shows. Heard most of them complaining and saying they “didn’t want to be here” and we felt like an inconvenience. My ice-cream was freezer burnt and I spent $15! My friends also spent the same amount and it was lackluster. Half of the items were out of stock, but the most disappointing thing was it was my friend’s first time and we talked about how they make the ice-cream with the mixers in front of you. I don’t know if they do that anymore because all the mixers are off and didn’t even have mixing bowls anywhere near.

Ice cream was excellent. Prices are crazy. $7 for a tiny cup of ice cream with no toppings.
