We stopped in because we were in the mood for some Puerto Rican food. To enter the restaurant you must go down the set of stairs. Proceed to the counter where you can place your order and you can seat yourself as your food is then brought to you. I ordered the beef empanada and the relleno de papa. Both of them were good. For our meal I had the carne frita with mofongo and my girlfriend had the pastelón. Both were very good and flavorful.

I was being stalked by a family member who decided to follow me inside of this restaurant. I asked the coworker and manager can I please go out a back door so this family member does not follow me. They refused to help me and said it is only for employees. The family member decided to follow me into this restaurant and the coworker and manager looked at everything take place even when I made eye contact with the coworker stating “I don’t feel safe” after explaining everything to them before the occurrence. This is shameful! THEY DIDNT EVEN OFFER TO STOP THE ALTERCATION OR CALL THE COPS. Your staff needs to be knowledgeable about real life situations when people need help on the outside. Because anything could have happened! Due to it being just us in that restaurant it was as if they was just enjoying the show at their own work place. This woman called me all type of names yelling at me and I kept backing away from her stating I don’t want to talk. it is sad to know that I asked for helped and nothing was given. Where is the safety procedures in that building in the case of scenarios like mine! I HOPE THIS CHANGES DUE TO MY EXPERIENCE! So the next person will be safe because it could have been worst for me and the safety of others in the restaurant!

We’ve been a few times and had a decent experience experience. However ordered takeout twice recently and the menu online does not match what they offer in store which is disappointing. The takeout portions were very small compared to the price. Ordered takeout most recently on Friday and we all got food poisoning. The chicken was also tasteless which is disappointing given that usually Puerto Rican chicken is much more flavorful. Definitely do not recommend.

Food is good. They can be better though. When i order for delivery, the food doesn’t seem fresh. It gets delivered pretty fast and food looks and tastes like it has been premade. The empanadas are not good. The dough is too much. Very doughy. The flavor is off. It can be better.

I've been there twice and will definitely go again. I just wish they weren't always out of flan, but the tres leches cake is very good 😊

Really amazing food but please remind staff to wear hair nets. I had a piece of hair in my food and so did my girlfriend. But we understand mistakes happen so it’s not the end of the world okay ❤️

Food was absolutely delicious! Everything hit the mark! It’s a hideaway spot, hard to spot from the streets but that’s not an issue. Once you find it you’ll be happy you did! Fast service and amicable staff.

Food was phenomenal. I got the mofongo with the adobe chicken, chimichurri sauce and pico de gallo. Flavor was awesome throughout, amazing blend of seasonings, and everything was perfectly cooked. I haven’t had good mofongo since a trip to Puerto Rico in 2010. I’ll definitely come again.

Si puedes, DEBES! Este review is in Spanglish! From the atmosphere, to the service, to the food, this was a great find. La comida es auténtica y deliciosa. La porciones estaban perfecta. I think this is a good family spot, not too expensive but just right for the fam! Come check it out.

Food was decent, arroz con gandules were really good. Found it odd that they asked if I wanted sauce and then put it directly on the meat and rice, which kinda ruined it. But whatever. Probably wouldn’t come back, not really memorable

They don't have good hospitality! He don't even ask what u want and assume everyone wants yellow rice without asking and then u tell him that's not what I wanted he said why I didn't say so and I told him why u didn't asked?? Bad service and attitude but had to be the better person!! Bad hospitality

My first time here. Instead explaining what I needed to do, the server just asked if I wanted to order. With that being said, the food was really good. I had the beef empanada and the loaded fries. I will be going back to try other food

I stumbled onto this spot and I was not disappointed by what I found!! First off the atmosphere give you that backyard island vibe.. the ambiance is that of a tropical paradise...when you fist open the door your greeted by the music, immediately you want to start dancing💃🕺🏽 .. then you go downstairs to this softly lit basement restaurant.. the food smells amazing, and you are greeted by what looks to be a father and daughter owner...very beautiful young lady by the way. But everything is clean, food looks well prepared and your order is taken right away. Prices are a bit high for the portions but I can tell the food is cooked with all that Latin love...I'd definitely recommend this establishment for that back home latin flavor... thanks Mofongo. This is a hidden gem in the neighborhood and if you blink you'll miss out...
