Good, kid-friendly, not spectacular. I enjoyed the penne with vodka: the pasta tasted very fresh. My kids enjoyed the Patate pizza with mashed potatoes and bacon (though they picked out the spinach, because they're kids). The plain cheese pizza was serviceable, but if you're looking for something like a tomato pie with mozz from the Big Three you might be disappointed: there's some char, yes, but this is not like the great New Haven pies. Our service was slow because the restaurant looked understaffed and had a large party, but our servers were nevertheless super nice and accommodating.

If you are driving through and are in a pinch, this place does the job. But set your expectations low. This place runs like an investment firm took over it. As someone who cooks, the sauce is objectively completely wrong. It tastes acidic - not rounded out with other flavors at all. It’s heartbreaking. The pizzas we ordered were so bland. The Clark street pizza skimped on toppings, and even they were all bland as well. The one thing this place does do well is the sourdough crust - it just doesn’t serve it crispy. Honestly I’m just so disappointed because we didn’t have any better choices on a cold rainy day and we’re hoping for something decent but this shouldn’t be served to anyone with taste. - A New Yorker

Love the pizza. Hate the service. They messed up on my online order which provides no clear description on what’s on the pizza. Instead acknowledging that the toppings aren’t clearly described on the site where you place online orders, they told me I should have looked at the menu (which is on a different part of the site) to see what “vegan bacon” comes with and that there’s nothing they can do. Would’ve it be vegan cheese and bacon?? Nope, spinach, tomatoes, cheese and bacon…

After waiting 5 minutes to be acknowledged at the counter when I first got there, going back and forth with them and speaking with 3 people, the manager Donna/Heather? finally offered to remake the pizza or give me a refund. I took the refund because I lost my appetite at that point.

I don’t care how good the food is, customer service can ruin a whole experience. It ruined it for me.

This food was delicious - imo it was as good (or better) than Pepe's or Sally's! Lovely interior, with excellent service and FANTASTIC pizza. Try May the 5th if you like spicy pizza. Enjoy!

Someone introduced me to this place some years ago when they were at their old spot. Ever since then, I've been hooked. Love the Clark St. pie and the custom one I usually get. Everyone has opinions but I personally think this is the best pizza in New Haven. No hurt feelings if anyone says otherwise.
Enjoy.

Food is always spot on, but service is hit-or-miss. Sometimes they will be great and other times they will forget about you for a long time.

The price for a large pizza is unreasonably high, especially considering the mediocre quality and taste of the ingredients—starting with the sauce, which lacks flavor and depth. In Italy, you could buy six excellent pizzas for the price of one large here. Pizza began as an affordable, humble meal meant to feed families, but this place seems to have lost sight of that tradition in pursuit of excessive profit margins.

Go for: A truly unique selection of Neapolitan pizza, substantial selection of rotating taps, with a touch of ultra modernist architecture.

Avoid if: You're on a low-carb diet.

Something surprising: The sheer variety of unique and traditional Neapolitan pizza styles.

Reservation needed? Friday and Saturday night during the warmer months, but otherwise you can usually walk in.

Overall . If you're a fan of lots of tomato on your pizza, then New Haven Neapolitan is for you. The pizza was good and pretty fairly priced, and there were numerous options you've probably never seen before. Good beer options, pizza, and timely service: What's not to like?

I'm here on a business trip and was recommended this place by a fellow coworker. The food did not disappoint. Delicious pizza, great service and atmosphere. Try the 5th of May pizza, it was very good. I will definitely be back

Tip is included for a group of 6 or more. So, unfortunately high tip is included even though your table may be neglected by servers. We also had a disgusting brown thick film all over our cups of soda. We complained about that, they said, “that film is normal and that just means the soda stream needs to be cleaned….” Therefore, they were serving us dirty sodas. The restaurant was beautiful and a nice environment. The food was decent overall.
