Had a great dance upstairs! The starburst drink that the bartender recommended was really good.

Please read: I have been to partners many times during the week. The bartenders have been great! However, the owner Joe is a different case. After last call, I was directed to finish my beer at the bar (which I totally respect) my girl friends that were literally with me had their beers snatched from their hands and were physically pushed to leave the bar. As my friend and I confronted the owner, he flipped us off and said that we will not be welcome back there again. I am fine with not returning after witnessing the behavior from the owner. It saddens me that one of the only queer bars has been hostile, however I cannot support a place that is physically abusive to their patrons. I will also let my Yale school know the behavior that occurs there and request for them to find a different place for any future events.

The atmosphere here is too pretentious to black people, not POC. The security guard is way too aggressive unnecessarily. I made a mistake thinking the basement was open due to the ingress and egress of other people. But it wasn't and his reaction to me compared to the white girls was segregated. Treat me as equal. Tell everyone to move, not just me and my crew. Also, people here are not friendly. Tried chatting with some folk and I felt bad for speaking. Just a weird vibe and not being from here.

Used to go here ALL THE TIME when I lived in New Haven during grad school.
This was my first time going to a gay club/bar. I was drugged and went to the ER. After months of recovering and investigation I found out the perpetrator was a regular and known person on the queer scene in New haven. Keep your drinks with you at all times and be careful
My friends and I have been to this place a couple times in the past. Today he asked us for our IDs for the first time. He was rude and upset about having to service us from the begining. We provided him with our ID and he said we had fake IDs. Which was a lie since we have been there before. This person seemed to be under the influence of alcohol or some other substance.

Whenever I go to New Haven, I make sure to stop at Partners. It's a staple of the community and I have so many wonderful memories attached to this building. Make sure to check out the BiP mural outside!
Paul was lovely and from being an out of towner, he made me feel super comfortable. Really good mixed drinks. I will be back tomorrow :)
Restaurantji Recommends
Terrible crowd terrible music
unnecessarily gendered single occupancy rest rooms
Partners is my favorite bar in New Haven hands down. No cover fee and the bouncer is a cutie! There’s nothing like striking up a conversation and making new friends at the downstairs bar to start off the night. The bartenders are always willing to give drink recommendations and the when it’s time to head upstairs, you know the queens are about to put on a killer show! This is the place to dance freely, meet new friends, and leave judgement at the door.
This is the best place in New Haven to come and dance. Cheap drinks, friendly staff, good music. Coming back for Pride Month.
Had an extremely bad and stressful experience here last night. The owner has some sort of strange obsession with my boyfriend and is always accusing him of doing things he’s not doing. Last night he refused him entry and when my boyfriend tried to ask him why, he started screaming and threatened to shoot my boyfriend if he didn’t go away. Even the bouncer looked ashamed to have to work for such a racist, xenophobic evil piece of a man. Don’t come back here unless you want your POC friends to be threatened to get shot. So triggering.
