We just came into New Haven from New York City on the train with our day packs. We were asked to leave because “no backpacks allowed.” Thank God we weren’t gays with nowhere to go. Our community is failing each other. Maybe it’s only purses allowed in 2025? Next.

Mid atmosphere for a gay bar. Felt like it was an unhandled aggressive mess many times I’ve been here.

Bartenders are hit or miss. I’ve been treated well, slightly ignored in oddly dead times, but otherwise had positivity.

New server that appears to be a more feminine older figure approached me very aggressively when I came in.

Partners is definitely a great spot for a good night out with a delirium atmosphere.
One thing I find hard to do here is approach people most are standoffish or just down right rude, think they're too good to say hello too, so yeah there is a big ego here. But that's not everyone. If you love to dance and listen to the best electronic music then it's for you! If you want to meet someone you would be better off attending a wake. My crew and I have Always been welcomed with open arms at the bars inside and we are a mixed color group, never have I seen anything close to a racial slur or suggestion, so ignore those comments please, I am sure that was an isolated incident that said person put him or herself in!!!! There is not a single employee there who has bad intentions it's all about peace of mind and a great night out on the town. Be real and yourself

I'm out of town and visit here once in a while. Partners is prob the best LGBTQ night scene New Haven has to offer. That said, it was LAUGHABLE to have to pay FIFTEEN DOLLARS for a Black Russian in a little glass. A Black Russian can be a delicious mixed drink that hits the spot, but it is NOT a craft cocktail deserving of a premium price point. This place thinks its in South Beach bae!!!

Came into Partners tonight for an after work drink & had a lovely time. The bartender was so friendly and eager to make me feel beyond welcome. I came in alone so he made conversation and kept me company. My after work bar from now on. Thanks Paul Xo.

Had a great dance upstairs! The starburst drink that the bartender recommended was really good.

Please read: I have been to partners many times during the week. The bartenders have been great! However, the owner Joe is a different case. After last call, I was directed to finish my beer at the bar (which I totally respect) my girl friends that were literally with me had their beers snatched from their hands and were physically pushed to leave the bar. As my friend and I confronted the owner, he flipped us off and said that we will not be welcome back there again. I am fine with not returning after witnessing the behavior from the owner. It saddens me that one of the only queer bars has been hostile, however I cannot support a place that is physically abusive to their patrons. I will also let my Yale school know the behavior that occurs there and request for them to find a different place for any future events.

The atmosphere here is too pretentious to black people, not POC. The security guard is way too aggressive unnecessarily. I made a mistake thinking the basement was open due to the ingress and egress of other people. But it wasn't and his reaction to me compared to the white girls was segregated. Treat me as equal. Tell everyone to move, not just me and my crew. Also, people here are not friendly. Tried chatting with some folk and I felt bad for speaking. Just a weird vibe and not being from here.

Used to go here ALL THE TIME when I lived in New Haven during grad school.

This was my first time going to a gay club/bar. I was drugged and went to the ER. After months of recovering and investigation I found out the perpetrator was a regular and known person on the queer scene in New haven. Keep your drinks with you at all times and be careful

My friends and I have been to this place a couple times in the past. Today he asked us for our IDs for the first time. He was rude and upset about having to service us from the begining. We provided him with our ID and he said we had fake IDs. Which was a lie since we have been there before. This person seemed to be under the influence of alcohol or some other substance.

Whenever I go to New Haven, I make sure to stop at Partners. It's a staple of the community and I have so many wonderful memories attached to this building. Make sure to check out the BiP mural outside!
