This place is no joke , at this point I’ve tried pretty much every “bbq meat” they have, each one is very good I do recommend their sandwiches though IMO best bang for the buck as I’m not keen on the sides. Ribs , pulled pork , brisket, chicken , you name it can’t make a bad selection here when it comes to the protein.
4 stars cause some of the sides ain’t all that, Mac and cheese feels like it’s missing something almost like it’s just cheese and Mac no seasoning, potato salad is like I’m eating mustard salad with potatoes, and the collard greens it’s Ight .
Cornbread fire though, one of the better bbq spots in CT for sure.

Ricky D’s rib shack is garbage the Mac and cheese was awful, the ribs tasted like it had no seasoning, the wings was a rate of a 3%. I would advise any person that loves soul food please don’t go to Ricky D’s rib shack in New Haven.

The employees were great service was amazing it was just the food me and my fiance spent $53 on a combo meal and it was absolutely nasty the Mac and cheese tasted like eggs the ribs were drowned in bbq sauce the collard greens were dry the wings were re fried and over cooked even the lemonade was nasty it was a 0 out of 10 i definitely don’t recommend

Listen when I tell you this is the best bbq I’ve ever had I mean it. The brisket is amazing juicy it’s so tender it like melts. Mac and cheese baked beans cornbread is to die for. Definitely worth every penny. If I could give a higher rating I would off the scales good food. Definitely will be back.

First time n not to make it a race thing but im black these ribs were disgusting respectfully. They taste like an expensive chefboyRD. From opening the top i can smell the ketchup in the ribs automatic red flag but i still tried it..ribs were uncooked and pink nasty sorry not it. Wings big no no i got the buffalo wings and they taste like the sauce was cooked and smoked WITH the wings but the wings werent cooked through just burnt skin. Mac n cheese rather Cheese and mac cuz cheese is all u got lol. The only thing amazing was the fries and thats the 1 star tbh i checked the reviews and hyped myself up when i wouldve been happy with an egg ham n cheese sandwich... $40 gone never again

This place is so amazing! I’ve been to Sonny’s BBQ, this is heaven compared to that. The ribs are off the charts amazing, the pulled pork is indescribably good, and again, the ribs are AMAZING! My father and I have a weird obsession with ribs and Sonny’s will never be the same. Thank you all so much for this UNFORGETABLE experience. The next time I come visit, this is my first stop!

The food was delicious and literally falling off the bone! Sauces were delicious and tangy. It's one of the best BBQ I've had in a long time. Everyone working was super nice and welcoming and prepared our food quickly. I highly recommend the 3 bone ribs and the brisket baked potato ?.
