Amazing little spot with great food. Came for Arepas but saw it was burrito special day. Vegetarian burrito with portobello was delicious, filling, and looked impressive. Horchata was great, too. Have to come back for Arepas Monday!

I recently dined at Rubamba and tried their Carne Arepa. It was an absolute delight! The authentic flavors were a burst of deliciousness in every bite. The Chimichurri-marinated grilled beef was perfectly seasoned and tender. What's even better is that all their arepas are gluten-free. The grilled sweet corn cake with fresh coriander and mozzarella cheese was a unique and tasty twist. The meal included a generous serving of rice and gandules, sweet plantains, a flavorful ragout of vegetables, guacamole, and sour cream. The side salad was fresh and crisp. At $20.00, it's a fantastic value for the quality and quantity of food you get. I highly recommend trying the Carne Arepa at Rubamba - a true culinary delight!

I really enjoy the food! We had a group of 8 people and we ordered almost all the different kinds of Columbia arepas. The food was served with great quality. However, there’s one thing I want to mention is that for group larger than a certain number of people, there is an automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill. When I paid, the machine also asked for an additional tip on top of the already included gratuity. This is just a reminder, as I almost ended up tipping 40%. ?

For starters, they do not have a liquor license yet so don’t come if you want drinks. What called my attention was the cumbia music as we walked up. Restaurant not Latino run even tho they sell food from latin America. That should’ve been a red flag for me that the food wouldn’t taste authentic. I ordered the street corn ? which was decent. My partner ordered tacos and they came out really greasy and not very flavorful. The chips and salsa made both of our stomachs hurt. What really threw us off was wha he dropped off the check and immediately asked “how will you pay”? And put the card machine in our face. We said we’d pay with the QR code on the bill, he then proceeded to stand there and watch is as if we were going to take off and not pay! I had to signal to him that we were all set to he could leave. There was no “thank you for coming, how was everything, please come back soon”. No customer service skills. Also, entrance needs serious renovations- not clean looking or inviting.

The food was pretty mid. Birria tacos were not flavorful. Not very inviting. No alcohol drinks. Kept asking how I will pay.. didn’t care that I was on the phone.

The chancho (pulled pork) arepa was constructed unexpectedly as the middle of a pyramid: Red rice on the bottom. A crispy and quite sweet arepa with whole kernels of sweet corn. A big pile of pork. A dollop of guacamole on top. Surrounded by turrets of sweet plantains. The portions are big (thus the prices are fair), but the dish just made us scratch our heads a little. Why was it so sweet? Am I supposed to eat plantains, rice, and corn all at once? Should there be more sauce? The chicken empanada appetize had a dough shape that was unfamiliar and the taste was only okay. The preparation may have been rushed because it came out greasy.

Can I tell you about one of the most disappointing experiences of my life? It's day three of surprise 2023 COVID and I was ready for food again. Sequestered in my home, I ordered food from Rubamba. So the order arrives and the bag opens to reveal the most gorgeous bowl of pozole and toppings I've ever seen. Redolent with bliss, the soup begs to be devoured. It is curing what ails me. Halfway through, food tasted like metal again and I completely lost my appetite.

We left so full, the food was incredible. Our party got guac, quesadillas, Colombian and Venezuelan arepas as well as churros.
