This place has really gone downhill. Bar was pretty empty at 5PM, came in with some friends for a drink and brought me a sandwich and block of cheese.Bartender immediately walked up to me and yelled at me to get out (no outside food allowed). This was understandable, so I threw the rest away and came back nibbling on a remaining piece of cheese. The bartender told me to get out again, and after coming in back in he yelled that he would refuse to serve me any drinks. After just standing and chatting with my friends (for about 10 min) he then singled me out, yelling that because he’s not going to serve me that I need to leave.

Extremely rude and condescending bartender who stated she was “the manager” when I asked to speak with one following her behavior. Our food was “thrown out” apparently because we didn’t speak up to say the order was ours as she brought it by the tables in our area. When asked if we could have our order, she initially told us we will have to pay for it again as my table was “rude” and didn’t acknowledge her when she came by. At what restaurant should the patrons be responsible for making sure their order is served correctly to their respective table?I hope the owner of Rudy’s reads this review as well as the others on Google that describe a similar experience as mine and make some changes. I’ve never left a restaurant or any other business for that matter along with my guests feeling appalled at how we were treated.It’s too bad as my own business is very near and my staff and I really like the food but this type of service is unacceptable and will certainly keep us away from giving favorable recommendations to others.

They are racist.Very bad service.And the answer is: we don't care if the food you paid for came out burnt.I think 5 times the same thing is too much... and I was with an American friend...It's too bad that there are people like that and businesses that allow these acts...they didn't give me the food...I paid for it.

Watch for the additional charges! I ordered the New Haven burger which, written on the menu, includes swiss cheese. The price- $18. I received the check with an additional $1 charge for swiss cheese. I spoke to the bar person who understood my concern exactly. The employee told me the bill cannot be adjusted because the owner wants the billing to be as is. Doesn't make sense. I am a New Haven native who has been patronizing Rudy's for years and I love this place. John D. Rockefeller said, "How much money does it take to make a man happy? Just one more dollar." C'mon John and Rudy!
Favorite place in New Haven. Great service, amazing beer selection, and great atmosphere. So appreciate Jordan and the rest of the bar staff. Looking forward to next time.

The bar tender with the beard was extremely rude to me, my husband, and our friends. He refused to serve us for no apparent reason (we are all nearly 30 and had our IDs, and very nicely asked for a simple drink) and was incredibly disrespectful. Hopefully other people go on a night where he’s not working. He lost the establishment 4 loyal customers
