I had driven by Sitar for about 7 months now and finally decided to give it a try on a rainy day. I am an avid Indian food lover so whenever there is an opportunity to add a new Indian restaurant to my rotation, I take the chance. When we stepped in there were no patrons inside but there were quite a lot of doordash orders being picked up - glad they are doing well on that front. We sat down and ordered lamb samosa, regular naan, chicken vindaloo, lamb rogan josh, a masala chai, and a thandai. The food exceeded my expectations and was one of the best Indian restaurants I have been to in CT. The vindaloo was perfectly hot and seasoned, the lamb rogan josh packed all the seasoning in there that I craved. It overall was great!

Vegetarian options: Food was so bad taste, taste like warm frozen food ready to eat. I don’t want to go again.

Went for my father's 79th birthday with family from out of state. Good service. Really nice space. The lunch menu and beverage menus were perfect. Great vegan options. Will definitely be back soon!Vegetarian options: There are quite a few items on the menu labeled clearly as vegetarian. At least 4 or 5 .Dietary restrictions: They have both gluten free and vegetarian options

The place has a authentic Indian palace music room like feeling where the traditional ragas in the form of sitar strings was playing. The food was appetizing and service was great!

The food is fantastic. The garlic naan is yummy. And I always order the Sag Paneer and vegetable Samosas. I'm glad they can cater to different spice levels. While I like my head to explode my husband not so much. It's really a great place to get delivery from especially if you don't feel like cooking.

It was decorated nicely and the service was fine, the food was ok, the biggest complaint was the size of the meal ,the twelve dollar lunch special was so tiny. This inflation is not good

This is the worst restaurants ever in New Haven, I got such a bad experience there last night. They charged us more money than mentioned in the menu and when I told them about that then they said the menu is old.So, in short they tried to cheat us

Worst ever dishonesty experienced, Sitar Restaurant's performance in both billing and service charge left a sour taste in my mouth. It's disheartening to see a place with such potential resort to such dishonest practices. Save yourself the disappointment and dine elsewhere, where the only symphony you'll experience is the genuine harmony of excellent service and fair pricing. Sitar Restaurant, your deceitful duet has earned you the dubious honor of being the worst dining experience in recent memory.
