Happened upon this restaurant last month and really enjoyed our first dining experience. Last evening, really enjoyed the food at South Bay New Haven. They are accommodating when asking for alternative sides and spices that are on menu. The servers are attentive and everyone is very nice.
Overall, we had a great experience. The servers were profesisonal. We ordered two great appetizers. My steak was cooked rare and tasted great. My mother & father had pasta dishes, great. My partner had the duck, ordered med-rare and it came med-well, hardly pink in the middle. However the rest of the dish was great, and the flavor was still good. It was a shame it was overcooked for his liking. We came to dinner before a show across the street. This restaurant offers 10% off...
Went for lunch and was very impressed! Pre-fixe menu for $26 and I got the calamari, catch of the day with veggies and cous cous, and the passion fruit sorbet. The portions were impressive for the price, and all the food was delicious - the calamari in particular was one of the better ones I've had. I would definitely recommend this for lunch, though I can't speak for the other options.
