Cold food less than impressive. The staff was niece and friendly but Ill not go back
Rating is based solely on the grocery store as we did not try the wine bar yet. The grocery store is a little gem. Unique with a coffee bar, great selection of authentic japanese grocery items at fair prices. Very clean and well organized. Friendly staff. We plan to go back soon and try out the rest of the place!
Bomb onigiri. Also, great selection of other imported east Asian goods.
The salmon confit was amazing. The best salmon I have ever tasted! The other items we ordered, i.e. pork belly and chicken were all unique and tasty.
The cashier has horrible customer service! He gave me attitude because I asked him a simple question on pricing on the item I was purchasing which was incorrectly priced by $7.
Then wanted to argue as if I didn't know what I was looking at! Little man needs an attitude adjustment! I'd definitely never set foot in there again!
Food poisoned by the onigiri or the sushi, terrible quality fish/salmon. The sparkling yuzu lemonade was the only thing edible
The restaurant/ramen orders stop at 2:30 despite their listing on Google. They also several times I've been by just not been doing any fresh food. So I think after 3 attempts I have given up on them in that capacity. The food available ends up being either onigiri (fine, mid tier), packed sushi (okay), or other options like kastu curry etc and other donburi with a provided microwave.
It's... fine. Especially if you need an option in the area.
The market is on the expensive side for relative prices on the same products in other Asian markets in the area/state.
Opening hours are unreliable (esp the coffee bar)
Decent array of Asian foods but on a smaller scale. Greatest thing is they're open till 9pm, all other Asain grocery stores close at 7pm.
Uni Carbonara
Thick udon noodle, uni, spicy cod & salmon roe, butter, onion, garlic, sudachi juice, shiso
The best!

Very happy this place opened in NH which was in need of a solid japanese market/prepared food shop. You can find a wide assortment of japanese frozen goods/snacks/desserts. They pack a lot into the small space and the prepared sushi/bento boxes/rolls are always decent (portions are a bit small for the price and it's not NYC-level good, but I'm not complaining - grateful just to have the option in NH). Really hope they stay in business.
This is in our building and we are very lucky. Fresh and many choices. The miso soup is the best

Having gone to Japan twice with the most recent being this past month, I had PJD (post-Japan depression for the unaware). Every time I walked into a grocery store, it was the same old American prices and products - expensive and unoriginal with millions of brands doing the same thing poorly.
I tried the hachiroku restaurant on DoorDash before, which admittedly I thought was expensive for the portion size… But this was my first time visiting their grocery store, and I definitely think it’s resolved my PJD! They have a wide variety of Japanese items and priced pretty fairly for being imports. Their ready-made sushi was delicious and highly recommend it. I thought their “nice tote” line item was pretty funny when the cashier was ringing me up. Will have to return to try out their matcha and coffee bar!
The best 🍜 in New Haven
I had ramen today. I’ve tried several spots around the area, and most of them fell a bit short in terms of flavor. But this place I went to today really stood out — I’d rate it the best ramen I’ve had in New Haven so far!
The broth was rich and creamy, the noodles had a great texture. If you’re craving good ramen in New Haven, this is the spot to go. But ramen 🍜 probably only in the their lunch menu.
