Beautiful spot, so much history, and pizzas made in 100 year old ovens so they have a perfect char and flavor. Every slice we tried was sublime. My only complaint is that my pie was just a teeny bit too burnt for my liking but otherwise an excellent try for us!

OK. So there's a line. There's two actually. It doesn't matter. Get in it. They'll seat you in 30 minutes or less. It's a little confusing, but super-friendly staff will direct you to the right building and table. We had meat eaters and vegetarians, so we got the four-pizza sampler and between five of us ate *everything*. Pepperoni - gone! Margherita - delicious! Chicken broccoli - so good! Some fancy gorgonzola/spinach/mushroom. Sooooo goooood. Frank Pepe's cider - dry, crisp and tasty. The old -timey sodas - great! Service was knowledgeable and fast. The food came out fairly quickly and was soooo good. Bathrooms were fine - no big lines. Definitely worth a stop!

This was my first time here and this was one of the best pizza spots ever! The food was so good we didn't get a chance to take pictures of our delicious pizza's. The veggie, cheese, and meaty pizza's were 10 out of 10! The service was amazing, and the ambiance was beautiful. This is definitely a must try, run don't walk. Leave a comment if let me know if you had a wonderful experience!

Rude and inconsiderate...they seated a party of 20 that showed up well after 3 smaller parties that had been in line for almost an hour. A total middle finger to everyone who waited in line.

This place is 100% worth getting off the highway, standing outside in a blizzard, sitting patiently while those around you devour the delicious tomato laden pies. A high quality tomato is a critically under appreciated element of some pizza and is close to perfection here. I know, I know, some of you out there like white pizza. Fine, get the clams, it's a free country. My kids always prefer a margarita, but a true American Italian place like this produces on seafood and sausage. My personal preference is any version with sausage (it is YUM), but I must say I've never been as tempted by clam pizza as at this establishment.

Definitely recommend this place. Pizza was wonderful. Staff was friendly. I had to wait a couple of minutes at the front because I arrived a bit early and the staff upfront made the wait a great experience had some conversations with the locals. Met some cool people while I was there.

The White clam with bacon is by far the best apizza on the planet. This has to be a bucket list destination for any pizza enthusiast.

This place is about a mile away from Yale. Even though they were busy, the service was quick. Compared to the pizzas I had in southern California, I thought the dough was different in a good way. Their crust is thin, slightly chewy, and crispy at the same time. Delicious!

Been coming here forever, since this was their only location. I have actually never liked any of the other locations I have tried. We have always loved Pepe's on Wooster St. and actually take the train up to New Haven from Grand Central just to eat their pizza! It is flavorful and unique, with that great character that only a properly run coal fired oven can produce. Prices are way up these days and the place just feels more "corporate" or theme park like but the pizza here is still great.

Never had clams on a pizza before but was VERY happy and satisfied with theirs! We shared a medium and it was more than enough food. The pizza was perfect, I love being able to taste the clams and the "seafood taste". Service could be a little more attentive but I understand it was busy. Restaurant was very clean and decor was cute. Highly recommend!

Another top 5 pizza in my life. As you can see I couldn't wait to take a bite. Made it a point to walk down the street and worth every step. Kind of glad I don't live over there because this would be apart of my daily commute. Back and forth. Another must place to stop by again when I make it back out there.

Pre-ordered a pie for takeout, so we wouldn't have to wait on the line. We asked if we could sit inside, but they were too busy. It's OK, there was a bench outside next to the restaurant and we sat there and ate the pizza. The pizza was a little bit thicker than other thin crust CT pizza that I've tried. But I enjoyed the flavor and the sauce to cheese ratio more on this pie than other CT pies that I've tried...delicious and would go again if passing through.

Simply great pizza. One of my favorite New Haven style pizzas in CT along with Sally's.
