We quickly stopped by this place to pick some lunch. This looked like a casual deli like place serving Indian food. I loved the concept. We got a chicken Kathi roll and a bowl with rice and chicken tikka. The bowl came with a good portion of salad and topping. It was very filling, tasty and healthy. The Kathi roll was great, however my bar is too high ( I was born and raised in Calcutta, india, the birthplace of Indian street style kathi roll). This one is more like a wrap, than kathi roll - however, this is the closest one I must admit. The food was fresh, and served hot. The service could be a bit faster. Overall we enjoyed the meal a lot. If the place is still in business, please pay a visit.

I’ve enjoyed food from here for a decade. Food has always tasted fresh and delicious to me; prices are very reasonable for the portion sizes offered. Looking forward to when they reopen.

This is one of our favorite take-outs in New Haven. It is fresh and tasty! We highly recommend it.

Both Google and their website said they were open, so I drove 35 minutes to get food here. Upon arrival, they were closed. There is no sign on the door or elsewhere giving any explanation as to why they are closed. In fact, their hours are not even posted on their door. Never coming here again ✌?

Vegan-friendly option when you have friends that have serious dietary needs and are fans of Indian food. Living back in NYC I ate Indian food at least twice a week. And for me, small takeout places are always hidden gems. I had the vada pav and they were so light and delicious. Hot and fresh. Totally unexpected having had them in other establishments. It may become my favorite thing when I am out and about and want to get something quick and delicious. Confused by the mixed reviews so I will get back to you all if something changes.

Fast casual healthy indian - good for what it is and fair priced! $10 for a bowl.

I think this place tried to be like an Indian Chipotle, but the quality is not there. The staff are non Indian, and don’t understand/care what Indian dishes are. The potatoes were not peeled…which I’m guessing was due to laziness. Also, I’m seeing a mix of 5 star and 1 star reviews, with few 2-4 star reviews, which is a statistical red flag. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this place.

We had stopped to eat on the way back from Mystic CT, after hearing a lot about Tikkaway. Conceptually Indian Chipotle is great idea and would be really successful if the food was bursting with different Indian flavors,Unfortunately it was not and it just felt mixture of randomness.

Disappointing at Multiple levels.I ordered using ubereats1. They missed adding 1 item which I ordered2. The vadapav was frozen and stale (possibly cooked a few days before being served), they didn't even bother heating it3. The food was ordered at 7:50 PM, they refused to hand over the order qt 7:55 PM (don't accept the order if you don't plan to stay open per your hours)4. The 2 items which they did provide , they literally dumped everything in a bowl without bothering to look at the specific additions to the order.Unprofessional staff, stale food, flavorless too!Avoid!! There are better indian restaurants in the neighborhood (much better)

We ordered the paneer naan kati roll and chana curry, both were very good (whoever thought to wrap paneer in naan; fricken genius). However the portions were so tiny! I'd say both were closer to appetizer than entree size. I never finish meals and I was still hungry after the kati roll. That's a big deal. Not worth the price for the size. If the portions were larger, I'd give four stars.

Sadly very disappointed! Ordered the samosa chaat yesterday .- 7 dollars for a small samosa Luke warm chickpeas topped with a few onions and a teaspoon of sev. Service was impersonal bordering on rude. I didn't react but I dont think I'll go in there again.

Nice place for Indian food. The dishes weren’t bad, but the quality and the flavor for the money weren’t quite there.

Used to work here a couple years back owner takes the tips, had to kill mice/bugs, workers having make-out sessions in the back, food placed any and everywhere.. I order from here today but before eating I contacted a friend that works there and they said it's even worse and recommended I don't eat it so now I recommend that none of you guys eat there either!!!

Think Chipotle, only Indian. I love coming here, as the people are great, and the food is fantastic. They've often allowed me to modify my order beyond what the menu allows. For example, if I want half paneer and half chicken, they accommodate. It's not really perfect for a quiet conversation, but it's great for people watching. I highly recommend Tikkaway. (By the way, such a funny name!)
