Yorkside Pizza & Restaurant has the most authentic Greek food I’ve tried in the states.. The moussaka was the best I ever had & I traveled all of Greece. The gyro was amazing. Fell in love with the staff so friendly & accommodating. We went to a event & then went back for one cream. I will definitely come back

I went to Yale back in the mid 1990ties and at that time went to Yorkside Pizza a number of times. More than happy to report - 30 years later it is still the same. In all aspects. Including the century-old furniture. And the awesome hand made, home style food - I am loving it!

Stopped into this place with my wife and parents a few weeks back. What should have been a nice evening drink turned into a major headache when the manager (Tom) "accidentally" overcharged our bill by $900. The server realized the error about two seconds before he handed us the bill, so then we had to wait about 15 minutes while they resolved things. And what, might you ask, was their resolution? A spotty explanation of what happened that deliberately avoided owning up to what Manager Tom did, followed by incorrect instructions on how WE could fix it through a credit card company. Thankfully the server took the five minutes to resolve the issue for us, but Manager Tom was perfectly happy to let us deal with his mistake ourselves. All he said was "It's no big deal, this happens all the time" and then proceeded to tell us "Don't worry about it, my friend" in a snide, condescending tone. Truly the worst guy you'll ever meet in a restaurant. It got so bad that two other customers rushed up to our table and asked if we were okay. Says a lot when other customers are more willing to help with a restaurant's screw-up than the management or staff. A potentially $900 "mistake" that got rudeness instead of an apology—guess that's service at the Yorkside Pizza & Restaurant? Save yourself the headache and go anywhere else. New Haven has plenty of great food, why waste your time with bad service?

I know New Haven is known for its wood fired pizza, but I prefer Yorksides delicious sauce and crust. I think it is tastier than the better known pizza in town.

don’t bother coming to this place, service was awful, owner was rude. food is overall mid. There are better pizza places if the pizza is what interests you. my wife and I left hugely disappointed ??

One of my favorite places to go. Exceptional food, great atmosphere and we also had great service! The owner George and his wife couldnt be nicer. We had the most delicious gyros stuffed mushrooms and greek salad. Their food is always so good and they have a very extensive menu. Can't wait to go back! Did i mention their portions and prices are also wonderful!

My son and I visited here twice during our stay and the food was just so good! Both times our waitresses were great. Although the second time we saw our waitress chug a glass of wine while on shift in-between bussing tables. Not sure if that's normal for this area or not!
Hands down you have to try this place when you visit Yale!
Incredible food and great value. Feels like a real neighborhood spot. Staff are very friendly. The wings were crispy and well seasoned. The pizza takes a bit to come out but is worth the wait - flavorful and cooked to perfection. Highly recommend this spot!

It was okay but it really needs to focus on a core menu and work on getting better food. The portion size was okay. I would classify this as a college pizza place that tastes like basic college pizza. The burger meat was meh and the best thing I could say about the burger was the tomatoes and lettuce. The price was good for what you got but I would only eat there if I couldn't find another place before watching the band next door. The atmosphere was Yale college which is no surprise and while the bathroom was clean college kids do what college kids do as shown in the photos.
Parking: 9 pm is the best time to avoid paying the meters but still get a spot on the street.

Very nice place. Serves very big portions of food. Very nice service and atmosphere. Waited quite a while longer than usual for my food so could have been a little quicker. Overall really good. Totally recommend.
