Late Sunday afternoon at Captain Scott's Lobster Dock in New London, CT was a delightful dinner date with Momma Judi & Thomas Lavoie! The view was lovely and the food was fantastic. We all opted for the Captains Combo and TJ was thrilled! Despite the long line, it moved quickly and there was plenty of seating. Plus, they offer wine delivery or BYOB! A must-try spot with great vibes and delicious seafood.-Marisa Balletti-Lavoie

The best seafood restaurant I have ever been to, the attention, the comfort, the prices, all are perfect, the only detail is that they do not have an indoor

We travel over 2 hrs to come here at least once a year every summer. It’s definitely a local spot and not a tourist trap. It’s right on a marina next to the water. It’s only outdoor covered seating. It’s walk up window ordering and last year we went they now have a food truck that was selling just like their lobster rolls and a few items. But to get the full menu like the fried good and everything else you have to order from the main window. The atmosphere is great. People even come with table clothes and wine in groups to eat and hang out. Right next to the main food windows there’s bother window where they sell ice cream so you could stay for some dessert too. This place is very popular so expect a decent size line and fitting into table with other people. They have like long picnic tables put together. We always go for their lobster roll which is my wife’s favorite. I’m all about the fried shrimp with fries. The beach is not too far so we usually go to the beach first and hang out for a bit and work up an appetite. Then hit up Captain Scott’s before the long ride back home. It’s always worth it.Kid-friendliness: Yes our kids love sitting by the water to see the ducks, look for fish and admire the boats.

This well-known seafood restaurant offers good but not excellent food, with lobster rolls that are tasty but not spectacular... so temper your expectations. Overall, it's decent but not exceptional.Full Review:This well-known seafood restaurant left me with mixed feelings. While the food was good, it didn't quite live up to the hype or the expectations I had based on its reputation. One of the first things to note is that there is usually a wait (both to give your order then to receive your food), which is to be expected for any popular restaurant. The lobster rolls, a signature dish of the restaurant, were tasty but not outstanding. They were well-prepared and flavorful, but nothing about them stood out as exceptional. Similarly, the fries, fried clams, and drinks we ordered were all enjoyable but didn't leave a lasting impression. In terms of quantity, quality, and price, the food here is decent but not exceptional. While it's tasty and satisfying, it doesn't offer the kind of filling or truly flavorful experience that some may expect from a restaurant that so many people clamor over. The restaurant's ambiance and presentation seem to cater more to those looking to share on their feeds rather than those seeking a truly memorable dining experience. This seafood restaurant offers good but not spectacular food. The lobster rolls and other dishes are tasty, but they may not meet the expectations of those looking for a truly exceptional culinary experience. If you're expecting something truly exceptional, you may want to temper your expectations.

Summer isn't complete without a visit! I learned about this place when my family and I lived in CT and LOVED it then! Now every summer we com back to the east coast to visit and drive from MA to get our lobster roll fix! Place gets better every year!
