Favorite really a place where young Middle Ages and older people feel like they have something in common. The foods are delicious The environment has a welcoming. I wish they were opened more frequently because sometime I just want to get dinner to go. They make me feel like at home the flavors are on point. I can meet with my friends there at any giving times.
We had the burger and the taco plantains. Both were so perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The fries were warm and delicious too. Another of our group had the Favorites salad and was raving about it; said that it had the perfect amount of vinaigrette and the kale was just right. For dessert we had the bread pudding and it was absolutely delicious. We couldn’t get enough of it.

Food was great. Service was super slow even though it wasn't busy at all. The out door seating is nice, but the view is very industrial.

Everyone’s really nice and the Rasta Pasta is delicious, just ask for some buns on the side. Only down side is that both times I’ve gone there have been large events going on so there is a pretty bad wait time (30+ min for drink). An experienced host/ hostess could really help get more people in and out.

The food was absolutely delicious! Within our group, we sampled everyone’s dish and everything was delicious. I loved the Grits. We were also the first patrons to sample the delicious Chef’s Gumbo. The owners Mae and EJ as well as their staff were very welcoming as soon as our group stepped in the door. We will be going back.

It’s a hidden gem in New London and the food, atmosphere, service are all AWESOME! We met the owners EJ and May and they were both very gracious in speaking with all of us. It is worth the trip and we will be back😊
I got the Favorites Breakfast. It was small, hardly any kielbasa (the first listed part of the meal), insipid eggs, mediocre to bad coffee, and stale bread.
I was very disappointed. The staff and atmosphere were nice, but the food is far too expensive for an unpleasant meal.

Let me preface that the food was good and we appreciated the owner coming table to table to ask for feedback. I am a waitress myself and always give restaurants the benefit of the doubt because I understand some days you’re understaffed, overwhelmed, or triple sat, etc.
Nonetheless, this may have been the worst service I’ve ever experienced. The staff was outwardly arguing with each other, the bartender barked at her coworkers when they tried to take over the table that she did not have the time to serve, and yet she refused the help. We felt like we were front row seat of a reality show and constantly looking for cameras to see if we were being pranked. I think the restaurant ultimately has a lot of shortcomings in staffing. Why wasn’t there a hostess stationed solely at the front station? (Witnessed so many parties of 2 wait up there and just eventually leave). Why was the busser constantly asking us if she can take a single plate?? (Just take the dang dirty plate and come back for the rest). Why did the foodrunner not know what salad dressing went with the undressed salad that was delivered to our table?? (He brought us ranch for a kale pecan salad). They ran out of forks…6 people shared 3 forks. Somebody at our table literally started eating with her hands. I think the thing that really bothered me is that the bartender insisted on taking our table because she knew she could give us shitty service, and then just slap on auto-gratuity for a “large party.” The only reason the person paying realized gratuity was already added, was because I knew some servers are shady and don’t tell you when dropping off the check that the tip has already been included. Bad look!

Restaurantji Recommends
Offers caribbean cuisine, great views from the deck but if you don't like trains avoid sitting out there to dine. The shrimp poor boy I had was perfectly cooked and delicious but came alone with no side.

Basically the worst restaurant experience of my life. The food tooo over an hour to arrive and people to arrived after us were prioritized. The staff were aware of our complaints and kept furthering the waiting time my around 14 minute increments. Dont go here they don’t care about yoi horrible experience.

We stopped in on a very busy day/evening when Downtown New London was extremely packed with people visiting for the annual festival and fireworks display and ventured into a busselling restaurant. With no reservations, the Hostess was able to accommodate us fairly quickly with seating. Although hectic, they were able to take our order and serve us the most delicious and authentic Caribbean food. The atmosphere was nice, the service was fast and the food was amazing! The Owner/Chef stopped by to see how our experience was. The Waitstaff was efficient as well as accommodating in assisting us to select the perfect entree.
I highly recommend and will certainly stop by the next time we are in the area.

Unfortunately, our experience at this restaurant was disappointing. While the staff was friendly and polite, they mentioned they were short-staffed, and it really showed. We waited over an hour for our food, and the dishes were brought out at completely different times. One of the meals was not what we ordered, and no one informed us or asked beforehand. It seemed like the staff didn’t really know what they were doing, and the whole service felt disorganized and chaotic. It’s a shame because the place has potential, but they clearly need better management and more support for their team.
