The amount of scallops given with the scallop dinner is disrespectful, at the cost of $18.95. I’ve never received so many fries with a platter (enough for 2 large fries) and such a small portion of scallops. It would’ve been nice to know beforehand that such little seafood and so many fries were going to served, I would’ve not ordered a side of large fries for our other food on the order or wouldn’t of selected this combo.
I share this as a forewarning for others to not be surprised if you get portions like this. I loved this place growing up and understand things change but again this is disrespectful.

Its sad to say but this place has completely gone downhill. We decided to come back this summer since the last time we ate at Freds was in 2022. THE EXPERIENCE WAS HORRIBLE. The fish and chips was tilapia and we love tilapia but it used to be COD. When you order fish and chips you never expect to receive tilapia. The fish was soooooo greasy and unseasoned. The fries were COLD. I remember getting the tarter sauce cold in the small white circle containers and it was packaged and warm. The clam chowder was clam water. Not think or flavorful at all which is so sad because it used to be soooooo good!!!!!!!!! and the clam chips were cold and greasy as well. I can see here that there has been negative reviews for the last couple of Years and they havent done anything to improve or accommodate their customers. We will continue to go to captain Scotts.

I got the lobster roll and chicken tenders. The tenders were good, and the lobster roll was a generous portion. My only complaint is the bread completely falls apart! Super soggy, and I ate it right away.
I still ate the whole thing don’t get me wrong, and it was exploding with lobster. Would go back!

Went for some icecream. Itt was very good. Owner always says Hi. Workers there very Friendly.
My wife and I just enjoyed the best sea food dinner by far. I enjoyed the seafood platter with haddock, shrimp class, French fries and the best Scallops I ever had. The coleslaw was amazing. We ate at Capt. Scott's yesterday but in our opinion Fred's Shanty was superior. We are going back tomorrow. Do yourself a huge favor and go to Fred's, you will be glad you did
