Great place, the food is what brings me there, not their staff. I haven’t had a bad experience. Get over yourselves, we’re reviewing their product not judging them. None of us know what might be going on in someone’s else’s life, if it makes you feel slighted, then you ought to think more about that.just hearing about “the rude man” makes me wan5 to go and experience it, he’s an attraction. Like getting picked on by Don Rickles. 😆

The Bagel Cream Cheese is SO good!!! Highly recommend this place. Even if you aren’t taking a train and wanted a delicious and affordable bite to eat. It makes a great breakfast spot.

Please do not listen to these negative remarks from others. The owner is perfectly friendly. He is just very business man. Maybe these folks weren't nice; because they didn't get something for free, they decided to leave a negative review? I have eaten here several times while waiting for my train. He is always polite to me.
Great little affordable option.

Our son had told us about the delicious, fresh sandwich he has while waiting for a recent Amtrak train to Boston. Since we were passing through town over lunch, he suggested we try a quick sandwich at Java Joe's New London Amtrak Station. We split a roast beef sandwich. It was fresh and filling. I ordered a hot latte. It was very good. The gentleman brought my coffee and sandwich to the table. Made exactly as requested. It was delicious. Would stop in again next time passing through New London and need a quick sandwich. The muffins looked good. The inside of the train station has a neat atmosphere. It's wooden interior is historic and clean.

Avoid! The man who works here is rude, no one needs his bad energy. I gave this place another try after my first bad experience a few months ago. I figure everyone has a bad day but it seems like this guy is just...awful. I asked for a croissant warmed up in the toaster. He replied, explaining with arduous detail how he'd have to cut the croissant in half and put both pieces into the toaster. Which is exactly what I would have expected him to do. But apparently this was far too much of an inconvenience so I'd have to wait until I got into Guilford where plenty of warm, friendly croissants awaited.

The New London train station is charming and a major stop between Boston and NY, plus traffic from the Ferry. There's so much opportunity for a coffee shop that actually wants to serve customers, it's too bad this prime location is taken up by Java Joes.

Terrible service. Is you have anywhere to be and can’t afford to wait in like for 25 minutes for just a cold bottled beverage I suggest you go to Dunkin!!!! Java Joe got to go !!!

Asked for a simple cup of tap water for my husband due to him being severely dehydrated because of the 100 degree day. The man behind the counter had zero empathy and would not give me a cup of tap water unless I had a dollar which I did not have on me at the time.

a rude man. He added the usual hot coffee to the latte. I asked to redo it because it tastes disgusting. He took the coffee and rudely threw the 4 dollars at me. I really wanted delicious coffee, not water with milk. What’s the problem to do correctly the latte or at least redo it?

It was perfect. Just the bite to eat we needed before getting on the ferry. We ordered very simply, but were still very impressed with the quality of food we received. Service was great too.
