While working across the street the smells coming out of this restaurant forced me to come in and check it out. Absolutely delicious Puerto Rican cuisine and amazing customer service! Leaving with a quick bite to eat and some sweet plantains on the side for under six dollars was something I didn’t think existed anymore!

Randomly found this spot, saw the reviews and thought it might be good. Needless to say I was disappointed in the food. The rice was stale (we came on a Sunday afternoon) bean were bland and the chicken was overcooked, under seasoned and dry. The food was so bad I couldn’t finish. Just wasted $44. Also forgot to mention the load you up on rice and beans but will only give one piece chicken. Saw the other meat options they had in the warmers and everything looked dry. The chicken seemed to be the safest option.

Food is so dam good omg !! BUT is expensive for 1 plate. the lady’s who serve are cheap with the food and when you ask for sweet plantain they charge an extra money for each plantain. I think it should be atleast 3 for a dollar or it should atleast come with the large plate we buy. Other than that food is 10/10 omg I love it here !!

Comfort food cooked by somebody’s mom- she wants you to eat…a lot, and it’s important to her that you like it. That kind of place. Sketchy area but…hey, it’s worth it.

This place is hands down the best Puerto Rican food in the area. When we walked in the first time, I couldn’t help but notice how much it smelled like my Grandmother’s kitchen. Everything is delicious, but the mofongo has to be the tastiest item on the menu. You can’t go wrong, no matter what you order, and the owners are the kindest people around. Mi Familia is one of our favorite restaurants in CT!
