The beautiful bartender greeted me as I stepped in and I knew that Social Bar is a place where one’s satisfaction is guaranteed.I ordered the Mr. Nice Guy burger with a side of Brussels sprouts. The burger was good but the sprouts were perfection!Back to the bartender, after giving me a glass of water while I was waiting, she proved that she knows her products at the bar. I asked her why Jameson whiskey was also stout. She explained it so simply that I, a teetotaler, understood the process.All in all, great place, great food , and outstanding staff!

We were there recently on a Sunday for dinner. It was very slow, so it was curious that it took so long for a waiter to come to our tables. He was very kind. The food was pretty abysmal though. My turkey burger was like shoe leather- I make them all the time at home and it's not difficult to get a good juicy burger. my husband's burger was also super dry. My son ordered chicken bites and they were homemade, which is good, but they were almost inedibly dry. My daughter's housemade vegetarian burger was essentially falafel. It's super hard to try to create homemade vegetarian burger and the best restaurants we've had them at don't even try- they just use a Beyond Meat or Impossible patty. It just doesn't work to swap out a meat burger for falafel. Super cute place so it was a bummer it was so sub-par. Reading the other reviews, they won't be around much longer is they don't fix some basic things.

The attempt at upscale craft beer bar is palpable here. I’m surprised we don’t see leather aprons and handlebar mustachios on the bartenders. Place feels like it needs just a little something. Currently closes very early. Pretty sure it’s because they are not quite brave enough yet to deal with New London’s late night crowd. The Social is beautiful!! Lots of wood and a long bar, but it doesn’t really have the TRUE SOUL of a great bar and kitchen, but they sure will dip into your wallet like they have one. This place will get there one day if it starts working on finding the right balance of brass and class. For now, I think it’s just the spot for older rich people and Pfizer nerds. :)

Ordered a burger “medium” and it was inedible, over well done and charred. Waiter brought the wrong drink and the bartender rudely addressed us when we walked in. She said we had to wait to be seated, yet there was no hostess to seat us. Will never return.

Came here for happy hour and it was great! Bartender was super attentive and friendly. They also had a TON of beer options on tap, and a few that were part of happy hour ($2 off). The food we ordered was delicious, I wish we tried more!! I would definitely go back.

I have been to the Social on two occasions and both times have left me underwhelmed. The atmosphere and location are great for the type of restaurant it is, but the food and drinks were unimpressive. As a vegetarian, there were not many options. I chose to get the Thai chili tofu, which was soggy. The drinks were too strong (which I know shouldn't be a complaint, but it is a complaint when the drink is actually undrinkable). The second time I went was for trivia. The event itself was well organized and fun but the food was still underwhelming. I would not return just for food, but maybe for an event (such as a drag brunch or trivia).

Needed a cake within the week, Suzy, their baker, was outstanding.Quickly reaching out after submitting a request, and perfectly created a cake to my desires.Incredibly flexible not only with scheduling, but the creation of my cake as well.

They were out of my first three selections of beer. I ordered for crispy chicken wings that came out undercooked.
Only one server during happy hour just to start. I understand having a huge top to serve we were the only guest besides 1 other table and guest who showed up 20 mins later were eating burgers 10 mins before I got my appetizer. And the food was cold. The server she was amazing and very friendly and accommodating and probably too good to work here. Recommend the server Jacinta but the restaurant not as much.

Waited 30 minutes for a server to even notice I was there with my friend. Once they gave us our drinks, it was like we didn't even exist. Will never return. Immediately requested the check and left to another restaurant that actually cares about its patrons. Zero tip.

Tonight was Big Band Night, so i enjoyed some good locally brewed beer, some good food, and a fantastic show. Most events they have are posted on their webaite or eventbrite. Price range is based off what i ordered.
