Yokohama Japanese Restaurant

My friend and I had lunch today here. Yokohama Restaurant is wonderful. The food is delicious, the wait staff courteous and friendly, the prices are very reasonable and the restaurant is casual with nice background music. It is not a fancy place at all, but that didn't matter to us. We shared the steamed vegetable dumplings which were delicate and delicious, the fried calamities which was very crunchy with large pieces of squid and the best I've ever had. We each got a box lunch which is $15 and includes 3 shumai, 4 pieces of California roll with wasabi and pickled ginger, white rice and the main event - mine being the shrimp tempera included 2 huge shrimp and vegetables tempera. My friend had the chicken teriyaki box lunch and both were delicious. And somehow we decided to get dessert, and split the mango-raspberry sorbet which was lovely. We will definitely return to Yokohama!!!

Had the sukiyaki and my friend had the omakase. The sukiyaki was to die for, but the omakase came with oysters, and he hates oysters. He tried one anyway and it quickly reached for the other. It changed his mind.

While I am by no means a “sushi connoisseur,” Yokohama surprised me. Tucked away in an unassuming strip mall, I was impressed with both the quality and the service. The service was fast and the rolls were well made and incredibly flavorful. Having tried both the Spider and Tiger Rolls along with the Shrimp Shumai, I’m looking forward to going back and expanding my palate. Arguably, the best sushi in the area.

I stop by for lunch from time-to-time and the food is always delicious. Sometimes I order sushi boats and they are great at accommodating my specific fish requests. Thank you!

The sushi is good but I think they add water to their soy sauce and that throws the taste off. With regular soy sauce they'll be at 4 stars!

I’m a frequent customer here, all of my experiences have been great. The staff is always friendly, saki is delicious, and the sushi rolls with have you coming back for more! Yokohama has the freshest and best tasting fish in the area.

Decent sushi for the area, but don't expect anything near NYC quality. good selection and service, reasonably priced.
